So, Morde...

Hi, I personally came back to League after a long Hiatus (about two years), and the game was completely different. I'm still adjusting to all the new stuff, but then I noticed Morde's rework. His kit is awesome, but he is super weak now, and it just feels like he's not all that viable anymore.

Did I miss something?

Did he get reworked just to become weaker? I mean, it's fun to jungle him with his w and not die. Even more so to grab Dragon and Micro split push with it. But I've just noticed a trend going on with champs: They get reworked and then nerfed to hell. And then after that, they no longer exist. Even worse than 2 years ago (which was when I took a break).

So does anyone know if they have any plans for Morde? Thanks in advance.

He's not playable. No burst dmg as a mage, no gap closer nor movement speed as a melee fighter/tank(range got nerfed on top of that), and no cc as a support. I have no idea what you can possibly play him as.

^This is my point exactly.

He's dead now. And he JUST got reworked.

Can't wait to see more reworked champs get completely shit on.

He actually is a viable Top pic. It's just that his build path has changed a lot.

Try maxing E first and rushing item 3116 first, then item 3053, as keystone you can choose either Deathfire touch (for poke) or Undying (for melee trades).

I'll give it a try, but it just seems like he get's trashed a lot now.

Gnar and Illaoi will be a pain, but she becomes fightable once you get used to facing her and predict her skills. I had problem against Darius and Irelia too but for pure lack of experience and bad starting items (Armor/Boots + pots are the best starters depending on matchup).

Remember that you can use your W on minions, cannon minions give larger range to it, keep the poke up with E.

I started playing mord post rework. He was nerfed since the until reeork, with small buffs a few patched ago. I had trouble playing him UNTIL I used THIS setup:

2 Moves peed Quints, As quint, AD Reds, CDR Blues, Storm raiders keystone, and the mastery for CDR on summoner spells and mastery for potions.

Always boots and pots start for moves peed and sustain.

Spells MUST BE ghost AND flash.

Rush distortion swifty boots and rylias.

This will make you mobile as fuck, and is pretty kick as if you poke, and use your spells to all in or escape ganks.

Ludens and dusk blade paired with the above core add very nice damage and a very nice amount of movespeed and burst for guerilla warfare playstyle. Be sure to have potions early for more sustain, and early focus should be rylias and ludens ( after full boots rush of course) because AP means fat as heals for maximum hues.

Be sure to keep warded to know when you are getting ganged to escape properly.

Guinsoos is also great on Mord, and makes his Q kinda like his original rework before it was nerfed.

Funny 3 items to try together JUST FOR FUN if you are ahead or need the AS: Nashors (50% AS and sweet CDR), BOTRK, and Guinsoos make you hit your 3 q's fast as fuck and burst like nobody's budiness. Try it sometime. It's cheese.

Anyways, that's my new way to play Speedkaiser, the Mord who can kite Quinn.

Moves peed Quints, Ghost AND flash, Stormraiders, 15% CDR on summoner spells, Distortion Boots of Swiftness Rush, Rylias, Ludens, and Duskblade.

The rest is yours!

Ps- Mord kinda sucks as a tank, really.

Mordekaiser got turbo nerfed after his rework because it was incompetently done and made him more broken than he ever was before. His problems as a champion from a design perspective were made even worse. He is now even slower and more kite-able than he was before, and his damage was front-loaded in his Q to the extent that he is useless if he can't land it. Furthermore, the attempt to make him a fighter bot laner failed because, when he was viable as one, he was the most overpowered champion in the game. I think he was literally 100% pick or ban in competitive (mostly banned, the risk of Morde getting through was too great).

I feel bad for Mordekaiser mains. His rework ensured that he won't be allowed to be viable until his next one.
