Ranked game's LP

So they say if you win 50% of your games you'd end up with more LP than not, but I'm not finding that to be the case.

04/28/2015 Win +14 14 04/28/2015 Loss -14 0 04/28/2015 Win +11 11 04/28/2015 Win +11 22 04/28/2015 Win +11 33 04/29/2015 Win +10 43 04/29/2015 Win +11 54 04/30/2015 Loss -17 37 04/30/2015 Loss -19 18

Here's my last 9 games and I started in a new rank in the first game... I'm only getting 10-14 LP per win and then end up losing 17-19 per loss... Basically 2 losses removed more LP than it took for me to win 3 games. How is this fair or netting a positive gain?? Could someone please explain the logic or math in this ranked system? Right now I'm finding this system not rewarding at all.

Thanks!

Your MMR is lower than the average of your division. Wins will net less LP, and loses will drop more.

I do not understand the system either. You are supposed to raise your MMR by winning games but that does not always seem to be the case. Look at your games, you won 5 games in a row. That in itself is a awesome feat. But your MMR is apparently still too low for the division you are in? That makes no sense to me. I have had this happen to me as well. If you win that many games in a row then you are obviously doing well and deserve to be in that division or maybe higher.

Yay, I got demoted... I kinda understand what they're trying to do but it's so hard to improve when you get others on your team that don't.

Well, ultimately I want to get in a high enough area where the people that play will play the whole game and with this system it seems like I'm destined to just stay in Bronze where it feels like a lot of people don't give a crap if they afk / dc / etc...

All divisions and ranks are like that. People of all skill levels have off games or make a bad choice. There are still Trolls and AFKers.

You just have to consistantly win more than 51% of your games and your MMR will raise. It may take a few games, like 20 or so, but if you consistanly win, the LP gains/loses will even out.

It works like this:

MMR tries to put you in the division that it thinks you belong in. So, if your MMR is lower than your division, you'll win less and lose more. Therefore, if you win 50% of your games, you'll drop.

The opposite is true as well. If your MMR is higher than your division, you'll win more and lose less.

Your MMR goes up and down based on your results and who you play.

My MMR was MUCH lower than Bronze V because I lost a lot of games with 0 LP in B5. However, after changing my playstyle, my MMR is in par with Bronze 5, and I'm noticing that I'm gaining around 15 LP per win (it was 9 before). When I got into Bronze IV, I was losing around 25 LP on loss and only gaining 9 (since my MMR was still terrible).

So, if you are losing more than you're gaining, you need to prove MMR wrong. You do that by simply winning games. Do that enough and your MMR will rise.
