I want a boot trading rune

I feel like they should just create a rune that allows you to swap boot types for free or something. It would be pretty useful and cost effective especially for supports who want to run mobi boots for ganking early and change to something like ninjas later.

Like what?

Only thing that comes to mind is something for AD casters.

Talon doesnt need Ionian anymore because he gets all his CDR either from runes/items or just items. Kinda sucks that he's forced into mobis. Not that they're bad but now that hes reworked he already traverses the map well.

I for one would like boots that give flat armor pen, but a man can dream.

I agree with this. I almost think there should be a boot for every stat, just to open up the options. a lot would be less than optimal but it would be cool to just have the options. Im talking: HP REGEN MANA REGEN Flat AD or AP boots Armor Pen Health Mana Crit Theyd need to be tuned but some champs(supports) might like the regen, others might enjoy the other types. Itd be nice to just have more options and it woud take much coding. Im not asking for fancy passive, just stat increases.

I feel like the last thing we need is to put crit on boots. Its already available in copious amounts everywhere. Manaboots would be rad though

He was probably responding to your statement that Talon is forced into Mobis. I suppose the last one was supposed to be Swiftness.

I would ideally like to see some kind of boot that is designed for item cooldown instead of just ionian boots.

Or maybe a pair of boots for split pushers that gives a VERY SMALL buff to your minions for pushing (something like +4 damage on ranged autos, + 1 tower shot to kill a melee, cannon gets +10% attack speed) as long as you are within a certain range.

A boot option that can help with knock up duration (or even throw it on merc treads)

The minion buff boot option sounds great. I'd probably add MS buff for nearby minions, then maybe AoE resist and/or OOC health regen buff as well, as either a splitpushing or sieging option.

phantom boots - ignore unit collision.

flash boots , mmmmm, flashes twice in a row , under 5 sec

or no , wait, theres an idea that goes with the current popularity among Riots rows. Beware .... no Ult cooldown boots.. perfect

wait, thats actually a great idea, boots that lower ult cdr dramatically , wow, your phantom boots are beaten to death

just wanted to make it funny, i apologize in advance, but my idea seems somehow better,

ty for inspiration

50000000000000001 votes

Ult cooldown boots XDD As much as I'd love taking this, I'm 90% sure it's going to be overpowered or underpowered.

50Shades0fTrynda1 votes

something of that for sure :'D

50Shades0fTrynda1 votes

addition of Dr. Martens would be just fine

but hey, we already have killer boots item 3006

probably a combination of 2 boots you had in mind, because , what else could you add that wouldn't be broken. armor penetration boots? haha

I want a rune that let's you carry consumables in your boots. Lets you carry a control ward late game.

notice me Sin pi2 votes

really nice on paper but in reality every pro would run [consumable carrier shoe] keystone in every single LCS match out there cuz vision = win, and rito would have to find a way to nerf it to oblivion.

Ionian Vulpix1 votes

Throw it in the inspiration tree alongside the Stopwatch mastery. You can only have so many runes.

Though Ezreal would probably break it, but what else is new?

notice me Sin pi1 votes

having it not as a keystone would make predator and [your suggestion] rune might cause a bug if used in conjunction, so i assumed it should be a keystone

50000000000000001 votes

With Predator in the game, I don't think Riot will add another active ability on boots.

This. Even supports can easily reach max item capacity, situation depending and if we're supposed to be encouraged to be helping control vision in the late game, why is there no slot specifically to cover control wards? Blue trinket and sweepers only do so much. Also, not having regular wards when everyone is full build can spell doom for those who took Teleport.

It can be a function that can be added alongside Magical Footwear. Seems useful.

already see it, broken

Removing the upgrade discount and adding this feature could be a good option.

As long you pay the extra cost from going something like item 3117 to item 3047

50Shades0fTrynda1 votes

you get boots for free with an existing rune, how would you pay that extra cost? 10 minutes, why not this on with time too .

  1. tier two boots [garen-swing]
Oleandervine1 votes

Why not just sell your boots and rebuy them as something else? It's easier to do, and far less programming needed.

Mig894 votes

This would cut into your gold for the game. I dont think its a bad idea for a rune but the mentions of attaching it to magical footwear would make that rune completely overloaded.

Oleandervine2 votes

Yeah, but that's a terrible rune to have in the game. I cannot AT ALL foresee taking this rune over any of the other minor runes in the Inspiration tree.

Furthermore, as a support, your items are generally cheaper to build, and if you're going to be running Inspiration anyway, you can take Future's Market, which achieves the same purpose late game of swapping boots (it mitigates cutting into your gold).

Mig891 votes

Future's market is nice and Idk if this would be mainly a support rune. I could see junglers taking it in most cases more than anyone. They could get early mobis and transition easier into later game boots for teamfighting without sacrificing the 200 gold or whatever it is. It wouldnt be a huge thing in regards to impacting the game but that freedom is somewhat similar to unsealed spellbook

Oleandervine1 votes

Yes, but this would for sure be an Inspiration rune, which would mean that a Jungler is going to have access to Future's market anyway. Future's Market is FAR FAR more valuable at all stages of the game, and offers you loads more flexibility with your purchasing than one that specifically targets boots. Besides, why would you need a rune to specifically replace boots when you could sell the boots, then re-buy a new pair late game using the credit you get from Future's Market? This rune idea is redundant because Future's Market already allows you to do this.

Mig891 votes

I get it would be niche but theres value in swapping it early, say 12-18 minutes in. Youre talking late game and yeah it wouldnt be as relevant then but this would be an early game rune. They could even incentivize it by adding +10 MS or something. Just brainstorming here. I dont think theyd just add it nor should they. Healthy arguments are healthy lol

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

the whole point of inspiration is to be niche though...

50000000000000001 votes

Future's market is for champions who hit strong powerspikes from completed items. A lot of supports make use of this well because most of the support items have strong active abilities on completed items.

There are high elo junglers who take this rune to get Tiamat quicker, for example. I think Gangplank uses it to get faster Triforce, and I take it on my Zz'Rot/Banner build to get those items completed faster as well.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

but i like magical boots on Rakan since it makes him faster then normal boots and with item 3117 you become Sanic

50Shades0fTrynda1 votes

good idea

where would you put such rune in order to be picked over something better in its row?

4262871 votes

Should just bring back boot enchants and let you swap the enchant whenever you want.

Marothennan1 votes

Jungle item swapping used to be free and it got changed to cost gold. Selling boots to swap them costs gold. Free boots swapping won't happen

ValyrianBlade1 votes

I think the inspiration tree could use a rune like this. Or even a rune that lets you sell items for less of a loss than normal.

The downside is that the rune would be rather niche and often unused even when you had it - you're not often buying something and regretting it later and changing it. The only item sales I see are typically boots for a sixth item, or selling a GA that's on cooldown. Otherwise you need to mess up to make use of the rune.

Then again, maybe that's just due to the resale penalty. Perhaps people with this rune would focus an early-game build early, then dump it for a late game build once they reach a certain point (e.g. a Lee sin going full damage while he snowballs, then swapping it for full tank if the game goes late).
