FPS dropping all the time

Four For 4·12/25/2017, 6:50:14 PM·1 votes·611 views

I have an HP Laptop, 2 years old, nothing special. Not a gaming laptop, but the specs on it are within the minimal requirements of league. I think it was $500 or so brand new. I have a total of 4 games installed on this thing and no other programs expect for the game clients.

I run League of legends on the lowest settings to try and make sure I don't have FPs drops but it happens literally all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions other than buying a new computer (which I cannot afford at the moment)?

I would really appreciate it.

uninstalled McAfee, maybe mcafee on-access server scanner is killing your performance

hit Ctrl-Alt-Del during the spikes and identify if it's from CPU, Memory or Disk.

If it's Disk, there is manageable ways to optimize this. If it's Memory, you can optimize this too by closing programs and what not before starting League or upgrading ram. If it's CPU, throw it away. It will never run League.

Check if your ram is upgrade able. I don't know what the bigger joke is, their minimum 1g of ram recommendation, or their actual 'optimal' 4gb of ram suggestion. I personally had terrible spikes of all kinds, in all graphics settings levels, until upgrading to 16gb of ram for League of Legends. So if you're trying to play with 1gb ram, that's an absolute joke.

As for processor, it starts to be unreasonable to play at under 2.0Ghz, I recommend 2.5, multiple cores for this Alt-Tab game is also nearly mandatory.

Now are you the kind of person that drops from 200 fps to 150 and freaks out? Those kind of people annoy me, but it sounds like no because you're playing on low settings.
