Do your rank drop after being inactive from ranked games for a long time?

So I've been wondering if my rank drops if I become inactive for like a month or two in this season. Before you tell me to go look closer into the forums here to find my answer then I already have but I only find discussions from 1-2 years ago and I am not sure if they have changed so that you don't drop due to inactivity. All I wanna know is do you drop a division or 2 if you're inactive and how long do you have to be inactive for that to happen and don't get the wrong idea I don't wanna drop, I just wanna stay in a certain division and take my time learning the game more and practicing with champions I usually don't play.

"Platinum, Diamond, Master, and Challenger are all subject to decay. In Platinum and Diamond, after 28 days of inactivity in any ranked queue, you'll begin losing LP based on your current tier. Every seven days after that, you'll lose LP until you play a match in that queue. Diamond players lose 50 LP each time they decay, platinum players lose 35.

Master and Challenger work a bit differently:

Each game you play in Master and Challenger tier is stored as a "banked game," up to a maximum of 10. Each day, 1 banked game is removed from your reserves. When your banked games reach 0, you'll lose 100 LP per day until you bank more games. Wins and losses both count toward banked games; all that matters is that you play. You can track your banked games in your profile, in the Ranked tab. If you fall at or below zero LP as a result of decay, you'll be placed in the next-lowest division. If you're already in division V of your tier, you'll fall into the next tier down (for example, Platinum V to Gold I).

Decay doesn't occur for players in Bronze, Silver, or Gold."

You'll drop down to gold 1 over time if you don't play and are ranked higher than that, however your mmr remains unchanged.

So if you're diamond 5 with a corresponding mmr, and then don't play for a few months, you'll come back to being gold 1, but you'll still be matched with/against diamond 5 players, and so have massive LP gains and tiny LP losses until your rank/MMR sync up again.

I was wondering I havw 9 days left before become inactive, but I already played one game do it means I have to play more than one game to not be inactive anymore ?

BIacksky

Thresh You can play one game to get out of inactivity, then you have until 28 days to do the same. To answer your question, yes it takes just one game.

if u havent figured it out already. no. you only need one game. but what this dumb inactivity message doesnt say is which Queue you are becoming inactive in. it must be a different rank than the one you played a game in. Dodging or remakes doesnt count as playing a game btw.
