Trouble in Picking a Champion to One Trick

PenguinRocker87 - Summoner Stats - League of Legends

I started playing League back in August when I built my PC, and I always come to this game whether I love it or hate it at the time. I don't consider myself terrible, but I don't think I am great either.

I am having trouble trying to find a lane to main, and a specific champion to one trick. I like playing every role BUT support.

Lane and Champions I like:

Top- Fiora Gangplank Chogath Jayce Teemo Mid- Azir Veigar Vladimir ADC- Lucian Caitlyn Jungle- Warwick Evelynn JarvanIV

I like Azir, and I wanted to try and main him, but my friends who are plats and diamonds tell me that I should still learn more with the game with easier champs and focus on other champions at the moment.

Any input is appreciated :)

I recently watched a very interesting video from gbay that is going to serve as the crux of my recommendation for your. I will still say play who you like, because the more intimately familiar you are with your champion, the better you’ll perform regardless of your opponent.

However, if you want to get your fundamentals down, I’m going to suggest that you play Garen for a bit. He’s a super basic champion that relies on solid fundamentals to be good, and he makes any strong points or weak points in your play clearly evident. Is your wave management poor? Are you good at harassing/trading in lane? Is your CS up to snuff? He can tell you all that.

Main Illaoi top. She's got great CS. Her kit is relatively easy. And she thrives on people ganking her. She's really strong and pretty easy to climb with IMO.

Lol, true. I don't mind it, but I just don't overly enjoy it. I only play it every once in a while to get the perk of not getting auto filled.

Just play who you like dude, you wanna play Azir? Play fucking Azir, nows a great time to plays Azir as he’s doing quite well, so you won’t get curbstomped by everyone and anyone once you get the basics down. Bottom line, you enjoy a champ, play the champ, unless the champ is so garbage that there is no possible way to win (skarner for instance) then eventually you will have the skill to win with that champion. Level of champ knowledge always trumps dumbasses who pick your counter but don’t really know how to play it

Sounds good man. Hopefully I get Azir's advanced mechanics and combos down one day.
