Tahm Kench's Devour In Teamfights

In the middle of a clumped up teamfight with creeps in the middle, I always try to eat my teammates away from impending doom but instead eat a creep =,= Would it be possible to add to the skill a priority to champions nearby the cursor if a creep is right next to your target, or would that create more problems during laning phase and such if someone wants to eat a creep over a champion? I've never been in a situation where I would have preferred to eat a creep though, not even when harassing in early game lane :s
