Why is ranked matchmaking so bad.

Whenever I try to play a ranked game, I always get over level 100's and up (check my match history) and they absolutely destroy me even in bronze. However I've played against silvers and gold, and they aren't even that good. What is going on here?

Could be that a bunch of good players deliberately lose their placements so they can crush bronzies for a while. Otherwise, I couldn't tell you.
