Why?[sg-janna]
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.......... All URF does is reinforce bad habits...
You do realise that there are Play4Fun players in League, right? :)
Not everyone plays to win every single game and sweats down to their last pore.

Why would you play a competitive 5v5 game and not try to win every game you play?
Please read what you just wrote....
Competitive 5v5 GAME. Keyword, game. Games are supposed to be associated with fun, with competition coming in close second as a core attribute.
Chess isn't fun if you use the same strategy every game and only play to win, it's fun because of the people you meet, the different strategies you attempt and the different things you learn over time.
This can be applied to League, it's not fun to use the same strat every single game; in this case this usually means playing meta every single game, or simply just your main. You learn nothing from doing this, you're likely flaming because you're far too competitive to be friendly; thus meaning you're not meeting anyone new (who will stick around) and most importantly, you're not learning; well, as much as you would if you actually played for fun.
Sure, I could use the Kasparov opening every single game in Chess, and be an unoriginal player, but am I learning anything? No. Am I becoming a better player? Not really because I'm doing the same bloody thing every single game.
Sure, I could play Katarina mid with the same runes every single game, and use the same strategies every single game. But is that fun? No, no it's not. That said, I'm mainly talking about normal games here, ranked is a completely separate ballgame. If you queue up for ranked go ahead and be the biggest sweat on the planet, it's ranked after all. However, if you're going to play a few meme-y in-house games or some normal games and you go full sweat "for fun" then that's a pretty cheap move considering those types of games are supposed to be for learning new champions and/or strats and having a laugh with friends.
League was never a competitive game first and foremost, it was a game catered to casuals when it first came out. It only really transitioned into putting the competitive side first back in late season 3, or even early season 4.
tl;dr League is a game, competitiveness comes second to fun.
Having actual fun in this game is a bad habit lol
Riot oddly enough already admit why they removed Urf. I was surprised they actually came clean. Urf made people realize how slow paced League is, they'd spam a lot of games, get burned out, then quit often permanently as opposed to later returning.
Due to the amount of permanent quits, they decided to never bring classic Urf back.

I'm not sure about anything behind it aside from how it made me feel and what Riot's official statement was. It made the game feel dull to me for a while so I quit for a while, but I returned as I play ranked, I'm competitive.
Riot stated people quit permanently because of it, whether that's completely true or if it was due to other reasons, who knows. But they're sure enough of it that they refuse to bring back classic Urf mode.
Not everyone plays competitive, I just want to play for fun, so please bring URF back and make it permanent! URF doesn’t make your game worse, but idiots do. Ban idiots, not URF! I’ve waited for every year to play URF only. I don’t want to mess up in ranked match with competitive players.
