What I've noticed about ARSR
People give up very easily. Almost all of my games have ended in one-sidedness or surrender. I saw people inting without provocation, simply because they were that far behind. Chat was much quieter than normal; probably because people just weren't happy.
Why doesn't this happen in ARAM? I think it's because on SR, you are very much on your own. As soon as someone starts losing lane, they're in for a rough time - especially if they're on a champ that they're new to.
On the other end of the spectrum, people who get champs they're experienced with have a great advantage. Once they start snowballing, the game typically turns into stompfest. This is not like ARAM, where anyone can easily fall back on their team until they've caught up.
Basically, unless serious tweaks are made, this kind of randomness doesn't belong on SR. It's too punishing for people who make mistakes. Unlike ARAM, the isolation of each team member works against the creation of a fun and supportive learning experience.
