League of Legends Matchmaking is Broken

Currently matchmaking is incredibly broken.

Games are won and lost by huge differences. Close games and come backs are non existent at lower MMR ratings. Every single game is a complete blow out.

The losing team to feel completely disgraced and left in games for extended periods unable to surrender many times due to frustrated players that desperately want to climb.

The winning team gains such a massive lead that for many players who enjoy league the victory soon feels empty and hollow.

Strategic diversity and the current state of the game is the least enjoyable experience in this games lifetime. Ranked is a roll of the dice and regardless of any individual or duo efforts games are won and lost by massive unentertaining differentials.

This great and completive game has completely forgotten about the BULK of it's players that reside in the lower MMR divisions.

We deserve balanced games that do not result in over the top snowballing.

A main issue that may be plaguing lower MMR players is the recent reset in which many players that were ranked as Gold and Platinum have now been dumped into Bronze and Silver by poorly and lazily designed placements.

How long until these players that were obviously miss placed climb back to there rightful skill level and proper divisions is unknown.

Until then this game is completely broken.

MMR is based on average game preformances. Those big differnces in games is not due to MMR being broken. It is often due to one team having champions they actually play well on and the other team having champions they play much less. I've beaten low Diamond players 1v1 in mid without any ganks. Does that mean i'm better than them? and that they MMR should be trash? No, they were probably just ADC/Top mains who were playing a new champ in mid or something.

Its just how the game works when there are 100+ champs, thousands of team comp combinations and five players per team who each have different skill sets.

Also when you are playing normals you will notice that only the TEAM MMR matters. That is to say, the average MMR of all the players on each team. You will often see something like Team 1 silver 2 silver 1 gold 2 gold 5 gold 2

Team 2 Plat 5 gold 4 gold 4 silver 4 silver 2

Or something along those lines. Rank =/= MMR, but you know what i mean. In these types of games it might also happen that the best person on one team is put up against the worst person on the other team. That is not something that Riot can account for in non-teambuilder games (though they certainly do NOT account for it in team builder lol).

I hear where you are coming from, but a match making system not being tuned to your preferences does not mean that the game is broken.

EDIT: You may also of noticed that the team with the lower team MMR is seeded on blue side since blue side has small advantages. That is in an effort to make the game more fair. They are trying.

The issue is heavily coming from the MMR rating and current division not being an accurate representation of players skill level.

After placements so many previously high ranking players are now rated much lower and considered to be Silver or Bronze.

So when a player with a platinum border from the previous season is being treated as a Silver or Bronze player this does not accurately account for their actual skill level.

Wiping the slate clean is fine and placing lower then you had climbed to the previous season is acceptable. But the amount of highly skilled players playing and being considered of low rank has greatly upset the game.

The placements are one of the major culprits of ruining lower MMR gameplay.

Masking previous ranks under far lower ranks often if not always leaves one team with a significant advantage.
