The new accounts are actually smurfs. When the new kids reach like level 10+ they go against silvers and golds and get rekt into oblivion and dont return. Lmao
I climb from bronze 5 to Diamond 5 alone without duo and I can tell you that this season is the only season I hate to play. Riot is trying to create a communist system where everyone is equal with the new runes system. I missed the time when I could change my runes based on who I'm vsing (MR runes or armor runes). Now I have to equip resolve path to do that. Plus, having 18 runes pages when I only need one now feel like I got robbed with all those times I spent collecting the optimal runes
Perhaps the amount of people that have more than one account has gone up?
The game is more snowbally, and I honestly think the skill level of players has went up; not down.
In soloq ranked, 80% of my friends dont play soloq ranked anymore. The forced matchmaking + damage creep threw them away from ranked. I'm a masochist it seems.

Those two things are separate. One or both may be but they are not related. For the sake of example, you may just be comparing a lower rated level of play to what you remember (no flame).
Less skilled players is a sign of more players, or at least higher turnover.
Overwatch and PUBG took a lot of players, but a lot are also coming back as their popularity tanks towards a stable level and youtubers abandon them slowly.
I agree with Tree...it's just the runes meta still settling down.
But if it wasn't how come no one mentioned that maybe the reason players are bad is because of ALL THE NEW PLAYERS. Maybe league is growing and we have an influx of new players. That is why they are bad. They are new.
League is probably more popular than ever. Every season has tons of doom and gloom posts about how the current season is the worst ever, yet the game continues to grow
I think the better players have been banned or have given up on league do to poor teammates now we are left with the bad players who report every little complaint.
I haven't played as much lately. Everyone I played League with, along with myself, are on other games (mainly Monster Hunter). Got tired of the same broken garbage going on and how long it takes to be fixed. Just got tiring.
perhaps riot has fcked up and everyone realized that this game is progressively getting worse and worse

In terms of active players per day/week/month I think we’re at a small decline
I have eight accounts, self leveled, that I play on. My friends list on all of them are almost always full of offline players even though I accept almost any add. On this account, my oldest, I can count on one hand how many different players I'll see online in a week. I know that a lot of my friends quit in season 5 during the devourer days, and those that hung on through cinderhulk tank meta, tp/smite top quit after the abomination that was the ardent sensor meta. I highly doubt league is dying, I just believe the older player base is moving on and being taken over by a younger crowd.
now the discussion is more about why you think there are more or less players my opinion is there is less players do to the ban hammer being thrown around to much because if you say anything to a bad player they instantly report after the game.
