Gifts Using IP & Gifting Hextech Shards

Gifting is already available in the League of Legends store, but the only viable currency is Riot Points. Can we use Influence Points to buy gifts for friends? Some cannot afford Riot Points which limits the features they can play with. Hextech Crafting, however, allowed those Summoners who do not have access to Riot Points to enjoy playing with new champions and skins. Furthermore, everyone gets that skin or champion shard they either cannot use or do not want to use. For example, one of my friends is a Sona main. If I received a Sona skin in a chest, I would never use it. I want to gift my "useless" shards to my friends who could find value in the skins. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
