Receiving IP and XP question..

I'm rather new to the game and was noticing the amount of IP and XP you're given at the end of each game is amplified if you win the game. I can understand the IP, because you're able to purchase rewards like new champs, runes/pages, and I guess name changes. What I don't understand is how the XP, which I'm assuming is short for 'experience' differentiates. I still experienced the same game, same situations, champion I used..

I only ask because I've noticed the optimal runes are not available until level 20, and I'd like to give myself the best chance to win as soon as possible and reading into them they're kind of important for boosting that chance to win

Experience levels you up. Once you hit 30 you don't even get it. Besides unlocking tiers of runes it does nothing. Influence points lets you buy champions, name changes and runes, other than this it does nothing. You get IP and EXP per minute in game, it doesn't matter if you win one 50 minute game or two 25 minute games, it will be the same EXP and IP.

Co-op vs AI: Level 1-9: Beginner and Intermediate bots offer 100% XP/IP. Level 10-19: Beginner bots grant 85%, Intermediate bots grant 100% XP/IP. Level 20-29: Beginner bots grant 70%, Intermediate bots grant 90% XP/IP. Level 30: Beginner bots grant 65%, Intermediate bots grant 80% XP/IP.

Furthermore you get 75% of the normal rate after 180 minutes each day, and you get a 150 IP bonus for winning the first time each day. You also get a small matched bonus based on the number of players in the game. During the PVP ARAM event if you use a Skin Boost you get 200 ip, and all other players on your team earn 100 ip, and you can all use one more skin that you wouldn't have normally for the match.

For a win, the reward is approximately 18 IP + 2.312 per minute IP. For a loss, the reward is approximately 16 IP + 1.405 per minute IP.

You can buy Tier 1 runes ridiculously cheap and they give a good % of the T3 rune buffs. It's worth it to buy T1 runes until you get to 20, in my opinion.
