How to carry a Silver game?

Snitchcrank··1 votes·8,577 views

I played my Promotional games the other day, lost 7 won 3, got Silver 5.. I was expecting Bronze.. I've played about 6 games afterwards and won none of them.. Which puts me at a shocking 3w 13l and haven't demoted to Bronze yet, how come? I'm not going to rant about bad teammates, most of the time the enemies just seems to be better than us, and honestly that's fine, good for them. But how do I carry games? Which Champions would fit the bill for carrying me out of Silver 5 and hopefully to gold? I know how to play Jax, Xin Zhao (really bad w/l ratio with him in Normals though) and Shyvana (For me she's a gamble, I either do exelent or horrifying.. no in between) and I have been playing loads of Vayne recently but she's banned 9/10 games. I've been considering Katarina but at the same time I have never been that much of an "assassin" type of player. I do terrible with Kha'Zix and Rengar, even after watching guides and builds and practicing quite a bit.. I don't like Zed or Yasou so they're out of the picture.. So do you know any specific champions that would be likely to win me more games if I mastered them? Thanks for any assistance..

TL;dr

  1. Recommended champions to carry a Silver ELO game
  2. Why am I not getting demoted to Bronze after several losses at Silver 5 0LP

Your best bet for carrying that hard is to play a mid or jungle champion that scale well and essentially snowball the game out of control by ganking both top and bottom and destroying your opposing laner/jungler. You're on a time crunch though because of the opposing team starts grouping and catches up to your build you'll lose.

Good options are: Katarina Akali MasterYi Khazix Jayce Leblanc Shyvana to name a few that seem to match your playstyle.

Any champion that does not focus on teamplay works well in those elos. You gotta count on that you doing better than your counterpart will not be enough to climb in that elo. You have to do alot of work, BUT focus on developing mechanics and eventually you'll find silver players are pretty trivial to outplay and will give you many chances to come back if u fk up.

This comment basicly says "Stay away from Support." and is therefore states the most important truth in the game. Supports can't do anything in low elo.

You are probably looking at the game way more complicated than it actually is. your champion does not matter nearly as much as you think it does. here are the 3 main things i want you to do. 1. do not be proactive, everyone in your elo is bad, so someone will eventually mess up and it will be so obvious, instead be reactive and punish mistakes. 2. stay away from hard champions, play either shyvana or xin, maybe some other aa bruisers. 3. farm, farming alone will get you to gold if you can get 10cs/min. no one listens to this because they like to think it's more complicated than that, but it really is not. there is no special snowflake way for you to climb. do this, and you will get gold.

I might be able to help you with your Shyvanna game play. I to had found my games with her to be 1 sided. Snowball and crush the enemy team or just go 0/3/0 at the start and fall so far behind and lose. Here is what I have learned as a Shyv main but not a one trick.

Shyv's biggest advantage is that she can farm extremely well! Her AoE and Single target are both really good. However she is also someone who needs items to really be able to do anything. Part of the reason is because other then her ult you have no gap close. W shouldnt be a gap close unless chasing a kill. It is a main source of damage.

The biggest difference I have noticed from a bad and a good Shyv game is the laning phase. If I don't farm farm FARM FARM and ignore random pings from my team, I get the levels and exp I need and the gold to at least built my full JG item. I prefer to hit 6 with full JG item (usually red smite razor) and maybe T1 boots and/or armor and then look for ganks. The bad games I find myself trying to "make" the plays or "create" ganks when really I have nothing to contribute to it. Im squishy with no real damage early on. Unless the enemy is really pushed up and really low.

Thanks, I will try that. Focus on getting my items instead of trying to do something when i obviously can't.

Honestly, u can carry almost with every champion

most smurfs tho like to pick hyper carries in low elo because of how easy it makes to carry the team.

(I ended g5 last season but deranked to silver and recently climbed again before pre-season ended)

  1. Don't die, Most valuable lesson I've ever learned from high elo players
  2. If you really want someone to play then play someone who can carry team fights and scale well into the game.
  3. After every time you get cs, look at the mini map for better map awareness
  4. When you push in and you don't have a lot of gold, check the waves in other lanes to make a roam play (assuming your not on ad)
  5. this is a team game, be sure to get your teammates ahead in early game so game isn't as hard! trust me solo carrying a shitfest like silver is hard because of lack of coordination.
  6. Be sure to take every objective as you can, for example, when someone is pinging when drag or baron is coming up, be sure to have wards there or to be nearby the objective to take it
  7. Don't look at your score a lot, just focus on farming and the mini map.
  8. Don't flame your teammates, Be like Tyler1 today. Though he is still really BM, he never flames his teammates in chat but flames them in his stream calling them shit or whatever. Tilting your teammates as a teammate, will tilt them harder.

Here is how I see to win games. Tho there are higher ELO players than me who can explain better (sorry for long post)

Couple things,

That one guy is right, don't die. But its deeper than that. You want to put yourself in the best position to get the maximum possible cs while taking the least damage as well as staying safe from ganks (within reason). If you know you are going to take half your hp stepping up to get a cannon, don't risk it. Try to manage your minion wave!

Another thing a ton of silver and lower elo players do is prioritize kills to an absurd degree. Don't get me wrong, its super fun to solo kill your laner, but punish his mistakes and out CSing, out warding, and out pressuring are going to do worlds more than your 1 solo kill.

Macro! Macro! Macro! This is why 99 percent of low ELO players can't convert games. If a lane wins hard, communicate with them. see if they can help you with a roam and then convert that roam into dragon, herald, towers, etc. BUT know your limit, if you get a 20 minute ace, make a call quick because the death timers are short, pick an objective take it, and clear any enemy jungle you can while warding up on the way out.

not really champion selection. just learn a champion. pick fights accordingly. and low elo... sometimes you gotta let your team die.

You literally gotta figure it out on your own, not dying won't always help you and neither will constant split pushing . Adapt to your game and it's situations is the best thing to do. Watch the game and figure out if you can keep going on and pushing your lane or if u need to go help someone out because they can't handle their laner and the ganks
