So I've been seeing a lot of threads about how Preseason 6 might turn into a living hell and that tanks and mages are in some deep waters. I haven't played any games yet but before I do I'm just wondering if there'll be a bright side to this patch? Also, even if mages and tanks may seem a bit weak is it possible that they're still viable? And which champions specifically? And any champions during this preseason that I should be cautious about or who'll be super oppressive in game.

Mages are looking a tad weak but it is still too early to say. Tanks will be harder to kill for Mages with the tanky items getting more MR but Mages were never really meant to be tank killers anyway.

Tanks will probably be pretty strong too because their base armor isn't getting shredded. Last Whisper used to cut 35% of total armor now it cuts 30% (40% when upgraded) of bonus armor. Tanks with high base armor will be really strong against that. Like Malphite with 92 base armor at level 18. Sure it is a bit stronger when building a lot of armor but not as strong as it used to. Add onto that the extra MR on their MR choices and I think tanks are in for a big comeback.

Self-Sustain champs will be taking a hard hit though. Grievous wounds can be built for 800g. I would probably stay away from Mundo, Vladimir, Swain and Aatrox for now.

A lot of the newly reworked ADCs are overtuned at this time. This has been done by Riot before, overtuning a champion to see their strengths and I suspect that is what is happening with patch 5.22 too. Nerfs will roll in soon enough to balance them out if they are too powerful. It is likely hard to tell at this time because the reworked ADCs all have really unique and new play styles now so most people are just struggling to learn that new style and how to play against it.

Yasuo is a bit crazy atm. He can get 100% crit with 2 items at 10-15 minutes depending how well he did in lane. i would probably ban him until he is looked at.

Soraka will likely be super strong too because Grievous wounds is only applied to self-heals so her healing is always 100% when healing her allies.

Where their any champions you wanted to know about or worried about?

So far I haven't felt weak at all on a mage. Things are changing but theres nice new stuff too.
