Detail your hardware, software, OS, and monitor configuration.

What resolution are you attempting to run the game at?

HDMI 2.0+ or DisplayPort display cable?

Try to open up your LoL install, should be under "C:\Riot Games\League of Legends".

Open the file "game.cfg" in "Riot Games\League of Legends\Config"

If you cant open it or save it, run notepad or another text editor as administrator, then open the file.

Make sure these five lines are set as follows:

  • WindowMode=0
  • WaitForVerticalSync=1
  • Colors=32
  • Height=1440
  • Width=2560

This will set it to windowed, 144Hz, 1440p, 32-bit truecolor, which should work..

You can also set the graphics to minimum if you think that may be related, or set FrameCapType to 0 or 1, i am not sure of the exact values needed to disable it or set it to 60.

That worked for the most part but while im in game it still blacks out and it is an hdmi 2.0, also i have my graphics set at medium high because i figured it was putting to much stress on my graphics card but it shouldnt.

now it is doing it again so that worked for like 10 minutes lol

If it was crashing your GPU, the whole desktop would go black, and either reboot or refresh after closing all software using the GPU. And a GTX 1070 is ludicrously overkill for LoL, it cant even use a fraction of the power available even at 1440p 144hz.

Does it happen if you switch to windowed fullscreen, or fully windowed by changing WindowMode=0 to 1 or 2?

I try to run the game full screen and it does that I haven’t tried windowed full screen and I changed window mode to 1 I could try changing it to 2 and see what happens

so update it does work in windowed gameplay but not windowless

About what i expected. What about borderless window/windowed fullscreen? That is the optimal setting in general.

As far as actually fixing it, i have no ideas. It could be driver-related, have you blocked all driver updates in windows and manually installed the proper video drivers?

it does work in borderless to just not fullscreen and yeah all my drivers are up to date and the proper drivers. But thanks for helping I really appreciate it.
