New Champ Select

I don't really know what people think about the new champ select but in my opinion its causing more problems than its solving. I've seen more people leave than not lately and heaven forbid someone takes the champ someone else wants. I was in a que a few minutes ago and took Jhin top and the 'adc' got angry when they realized I didn't want to switch with them. I was told that I would be reported and that they 'hope I get aids. So Riot I'm not sure what problems this new champ select is fixing but its certainly making people a lot more toxic and leave a lot more often..

I like it. If i get a toxic person in champ select more likely then not someone will forget to pick and i get a free dodge from that person without having to lose LP myself.

I think that the new champion select isn't favorable for the release of new champions because new champions always get banned a lot when they are released. That creates a situation that aggravates players seeking to play the new champion and creates a point of conflict for potential toxicity.

RIOT ought to examine how they release new champions and realize the importance of keeping a game mode like Teambuilder around. The new champion select is not a good replacement for Teambuilder despite Teambuilder serving as a starting point for the creation of the new champion select. Players who loved Teambuilder didn't use it as a replacement for Draft pick, they used it as a replacement for Blind pick. Because they can't reliably play their champions in Blind Pick, they go to Draft pick but that isn't a good solution for them either. I'm not sure how much of the player base were avid Teambuilder fans, but I believe it was quite significant. New champion releases are just a shining example of why Teambuilder was so very useful to players.

I feel the same way actually. It also makes it hard to learn a new champ that isn't a new realease. You have to hope you get the lane you pick (hope you're not trying to work on a mid laner), then you have to hope it's not banned, then you have to hope it's still open, then you have to hope you aren't counterpicked every time just because that's who you're playing (or on the flip side of it, hoping they haven't already picked someone who counters you). Teambuilder felt like a really good PvP practice mode. New Champ Select is more serious. They should both exist together because they compliment what the other lacked. IMO Team Builder should come back, and Blind Pick should be eradicated. Plus, it would be fun to watch all the trolls in Blind Pick scurry about like cockroaches once it's removed. :) Just my $0.02
