Why it's not fun to play against VEIGAR!

Okay, so I just played a game against a Veigar and I promise you; It was the worst game ever... Veigar was doing ok, maybe a little bad, so I thought: "ah, he is going to be ok to fight against because I am going 5/0/6 as Jinx". After a while of playing, we came to mid/late game and that's when everything went bad. Veigar had gotten over 400 AP and could now one shot squishy enemies with litteraly just 1 Ult... After a while in mid/late game, Veigar's score shot up from around 5/6/5 to 16/6/7 and my score from 7/3/8 to 9/10/10. I started getting mad and started building magic resist for the rest of the game (which didn't help at all against Veigar). After a while, we understood that if we wanted a chance to kill veigar, we had to stun him, then snare him so that he stayed unable to use any abilites for at least 2-3 seconds at the same time as fighting the rest of the team. If we missed just 1 stun, we would be one shot by first an R, and then maybe a double kill with his W because we were stunned by his Horizon (E). When playing against Veigar, I felt for the first time that there was almost no point playing, because whenever you encountered Veigar, you would die begore you could even press flash... At the very end of the game (when veigar had around 800 AP) my friend stood at turret, defending with 1300 health, and guess what. Yes... Veigar litteraly pressed R and next second. No more friend... After this game, I was really upset and swore that I would always ban Veigar, because whenever you feel like you are playing good, and you are doing well, he can always one shot you before you get to use a basic, even if he isn't really fed. I think he should be reworked or nerfed or something, because getting one shot and being stunned all the time is really not fun. What do you think?

Even Veigar with 900 ap can't 1 shot with his ult, it's an execute.

He needs to hit something or wait for his team to do the damage for his ult to do much.

My friend played Lux support and was defending with around 75% health and died from 1 R. That's atleast what I saw and my friend said the exact same

75% hp as Lux support is understandable past a certain point in the game.

100% is not.

It's a support, a squishy one at that. Your friend had no Magic Resist and probably got hit with negative MR considering the Veigar had Sorc shoes and Abyssal Scepter, which would actually increase his damage. Obviously, he's gonna get hit for 75% of his health from an ultimate solely made to deal single target damage. He would have died from one Dark Matter too.

Your friend also was using Windspeaker's Blessing instead of Thunderlord's Decree. Lux proc Thunderlord's Decree from just a Q/E + auto/ult because of her passive. She could of figuratively melted the Veigar face off with a Q + E + Ult combo with Thunderlord's Decree, Sorcerer Shoes instead of mobility and something more useful than a Mejai. Lux has much greater reach than Veigar and once his Zhonya's is on CD, he's an easy kill. Especially considering he has no mobility and his only defensive item against AP was Abyssal Scepter which is only 60 MR. With proper masteries, runes and items, a Lux would melt that Veigar easily or at the very least prevent him from getting anywhere close to someone who doesn't overextend.

You should have bought QSS, not Aegis. Never buy Aegis on an ADC.

And your Ekko didn't even have level 2 boots. lolwut?

lolno. You could say it's not fun to play against literally any champion in the game. That means nothing.

Now, as for your actual points.

  1. "ah, he is going to be ok to fight against because I am going 5/0/6 as Jinx" Uh yeah lolno. Your KDA is irrelevant. You're an ADC. You're inherently squishy and you go full damage. A burst mage like him, ESPECIALLY more so considering he's Veigar, one of the strongest burst mages in the game, will just delete you. This is a you problem and just you being ignorant.
  2. Wow, I wonder why a champion that stacks AP can do well when it comes to mid/late game. How incredibly strange.
  3. No, he can't just one-shot squishies with just his ultimate at 400 AP. It'd only do 625 damage late game on a full health target. If they had less than full health, that's not one-shotting.
  4. Uh, yeah, congratulations. You can build a little MR, wow, how incredibly helpful. You're still inherently squishy, the majority of your items is still damage, and Veigar had Abyssal Scepter, and he was stacking AP far before you even started to build MR. That's not weird.
  5. lolno. Just stun him and focus him. He instantly dies.
  6. Again, he will not one-shot anyone full health with just his ultimate until he hits at least like 700+ AP, and still that applies to only the squishiest targets.
  7. QSS is a thing you know. That would've been far more helpful than you building that useless MR crap.
  8. No, not really. The only way he'd kill you is if he either has a shitton of AP and you're incredibly squishy so he can just initiate with ultimate, you're a fool that just walks into his cage, or a fool that doesn't know how to dodge skillshots.
  9. Yes congratulations? That's not anything unusual. I checked the game. Veigar was incredibly fed, had 800 something AP, and used his ultimate that literally scales with % missing health on a low-health target. 75% of 800 is 600. 325 base + 600 = 925. That means your friend had around 73% health (before calculating MR/MR pen/etc). That means he only had around 1780 health in the first place, which is ridiculously squishy.
  10. You need to learn how to play against him. That's all. He's perfectly fine.

Ok, thanks for the reply atleast. I just got a little mad at veigar because it felt like he was litteraly unstoppable and he just ruined my happy feeling after going 5/0/6 and maybe getting an S

He can be incredibly frustrating. You really shouldn't be trying to fight him without a QSS though, or at least not until he's CC'd. Once he's CC'd, he's dead meat and you can just shoot him in the face.

whenever i go against veiger i go cleanse summoner 1. I know its not ideal for an adc but a early QSS will limit a good portion of his damage. He didn't just respawn and get a 1 shot r from thin air. someone started feeding him or letting him farm up.

Veigar is extremely powerful late game, kind of like Nasus. If you let him get stacks he will be a problem and no amount of magic resist will be enough to deal with him. Fortunately, he's really weak early game so if you can end the game in under 35 minutes you should be okay. He can get destroyed by long ranged casters too such as Xerath, Ziggs, Lux, etc... and even bursty divers such as Akali, Diana, Rengar, Nocturne, etc... QSS and Banshees are potent against his cage too and if he's focused he's dead.

the veigar only got 16 kills?

He ended with around 30 I think

He even only had 120 farm after 40 minutes xD

Thank you for all the comments. I have learnt a lot from this (I'm lv27)

Well as someone said below, burst mages blows up ADCs at pretty much all points of the game.

Who was your midlaner? Usually Veigar loves lane opponents who will ignore him and let him farm. His early game is weak, so picking an aggressive midlaner into him will shut him down and slow his scaling.

He is as squishy as you are though, and well aimed CC makes him a sitting duck.

But yeah, only a longer range burst mage, assassin, or MR tank can take down a fed Veigar.

So, basically, you underestimated him, didn't build a item 3102 to negate his E, and couldn't react fast enough to dodge the 0.75 second delay on his E, then fed him, Veigar, the hyper carry, late game Mage.

As an ADC, just building QSS would've been far better for the purposes of the cage. Banshee's would only really be better later if Veigar got fed enough he could just instantly ult the ADC for a kill when ADC is still fairly relatively high. The ADC wouldn't be in range for any other abilities to pop the shield, which would deter him from using it.

A level 16 veigar with 400 AP would do 625 damage to someone before MR calculations with his ult so I don't see how he one shot a person using just that ult. Even at 75% health that's an increase of 37.5% damage hence 860 damage before MR calcs.

He needs a rework (VGU).
