Illaoi 6.11 buffs

So right now, I am in Bronze 3 and I am climbing my way up. I picked up Illaoi because at 6.11, I saw that she got buffed and decided on getting her (instead of Vayne). Now, at the time I picked her up, I read guides on lolking and mobafire to play her and then proceeded to play about 7 games in normals to get use to her. 5 of those 7 I won. I decided to take her to Ranked matches.

**Now, the real reason I am making this post is that I want to know your thoughts on the new buffs that Illaoi got after playing her. **

I was in Bronze 4 when I got her and I have climbed up to Bronze 3. I noticed when I was playing her, she was really strong against many opponents (Except Volibear and Udyr). I basically have about 70% winrate (maybe even higher or a bit lower) with her in Bronze and I wanted to see if she is actually this strong outside of bronze. The mistakes I am seeing in bronze matches is that they can't dodge my E, so I just slam the spirit with my Q and any other tentacles I spawned nearby. This basically did loads of damage. The tentacle damage on Illaoi just shreds everyone. If they build armor, I build armor pen and a black cleaver and it still shreds.

So since I am winning a lot with her, I am starting to think the patch that she got has made her OP, but I am not exactly sure since I am in bronze and many mistakes are made.I am not sure of higher divisions are having Illaoi kill everything because when I play her, I seem to kill a lot in bronze.I just wanted to ask your thoughts and opinions

TL:DR Is Illaoi OP right now in divisions higher than bronze, or OP in bronze Illaoi

I'd say Illaoi is a case-by-case champion. While I can't speak from personal experience, it seems like higher-tier players don't tend to have as much problems with her as the lower divisions (gold down). It's in these lower divisions that people fail to respect her teamfight presence and group up to take her down and end up pentadunked. She builds really tanky and has a disgusting amount of damage if you let her.

Since she lifesteals from everyone she hits with her tentacles, it makes her dueling against immobile champs or clumped up groups extremely powerful. People in lower divisions usually aren't good at dodging a lot of her damage sources, but she does seem to fall off in the higher tiers when ~70% of her damage can just be dodged and people in those tiers are good at predicting and evading skillshots.

In soloqueue, though, people love to clump up all the time, even in high tier play. It's the lack of rapid communication that makes for lackluster positioning, even in Diamond tier, meaning all a good Illaoi player has to do is wait for that opportunity and go for the dunk.

Much like Master Yi, any amount of team coordination against her shuts her down hard. Getting kited in teamfights, burst down or outright shut out in the early game makes Illaoi such a difficult pick. She either gets fed and roflstomps the whole game or doesn't and ends up as little more than a few extra hit points the team has to burn through before they get that "ACE!" notification.

I'd say play her if you're finding success with her in lower tier play. If it's helping you climb the elo latter, I'd say there's no shame in taking advantage of Bronze and Silver elo's weakness'. But there'll likely be a point where you stop stomping with her and you plateau. That's probably when you'll need to pick a more solid pick as the competition grows in power and skill.

a champion with no hard crowd control that's not like master yi/trynd? nah, never going to be OP, but her ult is very strong in teamfights, I'm bronze and I beat one not long ago with aatrox toplane, check match history, and when I say beat, I mean I destroyed her.

I think the best buff would be when she, w's I think it is? it heals for every enemy champion hit, if it doesn't already that is.

personally when she first came out everybody cried OP, but honestly shes not that hard to lane vs and per passive is free gold for her laner.

the day league gets better items like dota has, is the day some of this wont matter, league really needs an item like heavens halberds active imo.

i never see her at my rank. i would say she got a buff since she was actually a bit weak vs people who know how to play vs her at an ok level. it's not to say she can't work higher than bronze, but she's not op like you may think. people start to make less mistakes the higher you get so it will get a bit harder to snowball and use that lead and such.

if you like her though, keep playing her.

She's sitting around 50% in plat+, given her somewhat straightforward kit but fairly inexperienced playerbase, she's probably between balanced and simply just good in competent hands (tier 2). Competent counterplayers will probably still dominate her if they get pick advantage, she will probably dominate as a counterpick, as lanes go, skill matchups as always will favor whoever is more skilled, as should be.

Her teamfighting pontential varies from non-existent to super high, she can definately dunk targets really hard, I mean Darious hard, and that's with AOE, but her crowd controlling is limited and thus she's very reliant on strategic/positioning sense rather than raw mechanics, which is pretty comparable to just about any juggernaut in the game.

I think she's in a good spot. Will we be seeing her in LCS? Probably not, but we never see Voli either in LCS and he's been a top winrate contender for quite some time (jungle winrates, top winrates aren't doing that hot).

She's also at 55%+ winrate for very experiened players (125games+) so you can definately climb high with her if you main her, like most other champs, as should be.
