Warnings for Ranked Decay?

As of 10/28/14 I just decayed from Plat V to Gold I in Solo/Duo Queue. I did not receive any warnings like I would for ranked teams, so I continue to take a break from ranked for a while and focus on other things in my life. Is this normal? I feel as if this is very unfair that at 35lp yesterday I decayed straight to Gold I. I also assumed that I would hit zero, decay after another seven days, and then lose my rank in plat down to gold.

All you had to do was play a game after October 13th.

Warning have never been reliable, and if you are willing to risk staying in Division V you should have written it down.

It is usualy reliable ... but since last patch its not and riot should give the season price from when the patched it ,It should not be the customer that pays for the riot programming issues.
