I'm trying to learn irelia as a new champ Irelia (IN MID) but im stuck on deciding whether to purchase adaptive helm orspirit visage
my current build is:
so i was thinking whether to swap adaptive helm for spirit visage because spirit visage has 100 more health whilst costing the same
ive heard that adaptive is more situational for champs like teemo but i play in mid
Also, is titanic hydra important on Irelia? xd

ankoanko193 votesSpirit visage vs Adaptive helm.. it depends on the enemy team. Since Irelias Q heals her for a short amount, amplifying it by 1.3 times makes it a decent heal. And HP is a very valuable stat in S8. However if they have some constant dps mages like 
then Adaptive helm would benefit you more.
The thing with Titanic hydra is that it builds out of probably one of the most busted items atm, Tiamat. Tiamat is so cheap and op and it is especially good in the midlane where most midlaners have some sort of waveclear. That is why I would recommend for almost all of your games to go Tiamat>Trinity>Steraks>Titanic hydra or GA 3 item (if youre snowballing then take GA 3rd item, if not take titanic 3rd. And the forth item is either ga/titanic) So in other words, rush Tiamat but hold on to it until your 3rd or 4th item being Titanic. I dont really believe Blade of the ruined king does anything for Irelia.. And boots of choice. And by choice I mean either tabi or mercs depending on how much CC they have that tenacity can reduce.

be a good last item because i've seen a few youtube vids where they go for it, some also 
ankoanko191 votesThis is just from my experience but I feel like Rageblade doesnt do anything to melee carries. It was better before on Irelia when it gave more AS & Healing because the 8% hp dmg doesnt do much if you need to instagib someone. Last item depends on the enemy team composition. If youve snowballed like crazy and youre at 6 items while everyone else is at 3-4 then deaths dance is a very good item. You need resistances and Deaths dance does give you the reduced dmg passive. I dont like rageblade. It only gives offensive stats and is very expensive. Irelia also doesnt have an AA reset like Jax W so you have to AA 3 items in a short duration which in lategame will rarely happen. But that is just my experience of course.
If you really wanna become an Irelia otp/main and shitpost on the boards (like me) then I highly recommend watching IreliaCarriesU stream. He goes indepth in every matchup, rune, build etc.

Dont just build items without using your brain, see how is game going and then buy what is best fir that situation.

tbh though, 
is a PRETTY solid core for Irelia. Shes a carry-type fighter, so the bruiser build really fits with her.
That being said, SV = general item. You want adaptive helm against champions like Malzahar, Heimer, and Teemo.
