How do I play teamfights against a Malphite as an adc?

Once it hits late game and I'm versus a Malphite on the opposing team, no matter what I do, I can't seem to avoid his ult without my own flash. (Average reaction time as I am only high silver). The problem I find is no matter when i choose to enter the teamfight, they will save their ult for me and i end up getting one shot. Playing too safe will mean I deal no damage and most likely lose the fight, but playing how I would normally play would get me killed. I understand that Banshee's veil can counter him but is quite often popped before I even get ulted. Is this a problem I need to fix from positioning or is it due to my team not peeling him off?

Banshee's Veil and Mercurial. Also, if the enemy team has a malphite, DO NOT GROUP WITH YOUR TEAM. STAY BACK.

Wait for the enemy Malphite to use his ult before taking any action. Also make sure to get Lord Dominik's Regards instead of Mortal Reminder.

A thing that I find is that we start a fight or some sort of scuffle and then my frontline will retreat while I'm still auto attacking the enemy and they walk on top of me or in my general area, causing malphite to get a 2-3 man ult on us. I know i should be falling back too but sometimes its hard to know whether a fight has been started or not. Because of this my teams positioning also affects the outcome of the fight from the malphite ultimate.

You need to understand that playing ADC in low elo is absolute shit because you will almost never get some peel from your mates.

Yes you can avoid being killed by Malphite by positioning yourself in such a way that he won't be able to catch you with his ultimate. Yes you can quite kite him.

It doesn't change the fact that unless you get peel, he WILL zone you and prevent you from dealing damages to more important targets. Since Malphite damages are quite low, with some peel, you can successfully ignore him (after he used his ultimate) and do your job. But if you don't have peel, he will wreck your AS, reducing your damage output and he can still kill you on a long period of time.

2 solutions :

Avoid his ultimate and when he used it, go Yolo => completely ignore Malphite and try to deal as many damages as possible before you die (because without peel YOU WILL DIE). Play Vayne .

If he wants to ult you, he will ult you. But if he ults only you, your team should be able to react and (protect you/kill the enemy carries) since THEY are not stunned. So don't pile up.
