im trying to figure out why im always first pick myself. in the last 20 games ive played, i was first pick 17 of them. i dont understand. it was just draft normals for me but still over that long period of time it has been slowly building more and more tilt and im just at champ select. idk. first 10 were like whatever but yeah im kinda salty now. doesnt matter how many friends are in my party, full team to solo queue im always first pick

ive left groups purposely, ive had someone else leave so id be the 2nd to last to join the party, i believe ive tried everything to reset the "randomness" of first pick but none of them seemed to actually "randomize" the champ selections. instead of being able to counter pick the enemy they always get the option to counter pick me, whether they are successful or not is a different story but at least ive had experience playing against my counter picks lmao

  1. You're not.
  2. First pick allows you to be the torch-bearer for your team. If you elevate yourself to carry your team against the player who counter-picked you, you allow your teammates to win their lane that much easier (since they had the chance to counter pick).

Or if you're super concerned about getting stomped, pick A) a champ that is strong in the meta, B) a champ that could be played in multiple lanes, or C) ask to trade.

a champ strong in the meta still has a hard counter, a champ that can could be played in multiple lanes just means they pick the counter and lane swap too. in solo q where people don't usually care about team comp especially lower elo games where you need to be the carry, this becomes a huge disadvantage. There is a reason you don't see too many first pick solo lanes in pro unless the team is built around them.
