I've played this game for many years now, so I've gotten very good. I'm playing in silver but, if elo was indication of skill, I should be at least high plat. But I've noticed there's no relation between elo and actual skill : I can easily beat gold players, even diamond players, and I've seen some bronze 2 playing very well. Elo is a total joke.

If you're high plat capable, then you should be climbing to high plat.
But you're not.
You're at the elo you deserve.
I used to be delusional like you and think I deserve a higher rank.
xxxliltrash 2 votesthank you, someone has finally said it. im currently bronze on my main but i can easily beat an challenger player with my 1-2 ivern mid and support. the only reason im in bronze is because the lol high challenger upper echelon keeps sending inters in my in game to sabotage me, im glad someone else is here to raise concern regarding the elo issue
Mianta2 votesTo be honest, there's a valid reason smurf accounts climb fast. Success isn't based on luck, nor rank entirely based on skill. Knowledge & strats go a long way when it comes to climbing.

Rank indeed has nothing to do with skill. For instance I've beaten Plats even though I'm low silver. Rank doesn't show skill. It shows the difference between teams in games.

Climbing, both, in long run(with hundreds of games) and short run(after getting new acc, dozens of games) are extremely heavy influenced by skill, wdym. Literally pick any carry champ and if you are good, you will climb... Oh man, the excuses, yikes.
Playing support is hardest one, but still.
