How do I start playing more aggressive?

I'm still new, I main ekko and I love using him. last night I was playing draft with some friends, specifically with a riven who was really good. He went into 2v1 against a galio and yasuo. our entire team was dead except the two of us, I was at around 25% health and mana, I also had my ult , instead of going in I stayed under turret and the riven died and said I should've joined him. He also said that I play way too passive as ekko, and that at times I should go in since ekko has burst. He was correct, I looked back at my old games and realized that I never went in if my opponent missed something since I was way too scared of just going**** in. so, how do I play more aggressive? sorry if this is a dumb question lol.[sg-zephyr]

As Ekko you literally have an ult that rewinds time, feel like you're going to die? press that ult and get the fuck outta there. hell even sometimes if you die it could be beneficial by getting a good engage in for your team.

You can't possibly expect to win a fight or even a game in general if you don't take risks, as the great Lin-Manuel Miranda once said in his Hamilton play:

"When you got skin in the game, you stay in the game. But you don’t get a win unless you play in the game. Oh, you get love for it. You get hate for it. You get nothing if you…Wait for it, wait for it, wait!"

XD THATS MY FAVORITE PART OF THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS

Right-click the enemy champion. There, it's done.

On a serious note, with Ekko, you see them go to CS, especially if they're melee, walk up Q and when they turn to leave use your E or use it to close the gap. End with an Auto or the return Q, just get your 3 stacks.

If they're ranged well E Q, get all your 3 stacks off and back out using your MS. Try not to use your W when they have vision of you, it can work but most people just walk away when they see Ekko's elbow jerk animation. Go out the lane aim it behind them and walk back into the lane and engage on them.

With your ult, imo use it as late as possible so one) your clone is in nearby proximity that it either does AOE damage or you can easily catch back up to the person/persons you are fighting and two) the later you use it the higher chance the enemy has run out of mana, hp and are on cooldowns.

Also, roam bot-lane, like bot is a treasure trove for double kills, assists, easy push on tower and a dragon.

Pay attention to when a champion goes in to CS, look at which minions are low hp and ready to get killed, that’s when u want to poke them with some dmg cuz it gives you a two for 1 kinda deal. They take damage if they go for a minion or they lose that CS. Alternatively if they use an ability (providing it’s a champ with a secondary resource They take them as if they go for minion minion then at least they used Some of their resources not attacking u but clearing a wave instead. (Tradeoff).... this is much easier with ranged champs however, since ur playing Ekko... a lot of that will be based on ur Q... try to time and position it so that it clears the moon’s while at the same time hitting the enemy champ... in terms of just sheer aggression... use ur W more, get better at predicting/manipulating the enemy into the W zone... also remember u can use the W defensively to give u the shield to nullify some of the retaliation dmg u’ll likely take. When u get ur ult (lvl 6 u can be even more agro)

Now in terms of what others have failed to mention... Ekko fundamentally functions differently from most assassins, he generally CAN’T burst u down from 100-0. He’s a skirmisher, he thrives on drawn out fights. So don’t try to start a fight and expect u’ll pop them immediately (unless ur reallllyyyy fed). Instead poke the enemy down with multiple Qs and always be on the lookout for stuns. Ekko is a great team fighter when u take these two into account (poking down and looking for a stun) . More likely than not ur ult is gonna be used as an escape mechanic... however u should rememberthat it does MASSIVE Damage on its own and the enemy generally won’t expect u to take it back to deal dmg.

As an add-on, know your cooldowns and pay attention to ur mans (best to display how much mana each ability costs). This is easy to do as it’s pretty much right in front of u, Now u have to take it to the next level, be able to approximate the enemy champ’s CDs and manacosts. Try to be mama efficient (don’t blow mana on something u can auto.) also weigh the cost benefits: missing a few minions in favor of being able to poke down a champ and likely get a kill is sometimes a good strat (because invariably u’ll have to miss a few minions when in a ranged matchup). Ekko is very mobile, use that to ur advantage and roam after pushing a wave (Ekko is one of the few assassins whose waveclear is on par with/better than many mages). Ping and buy ctrl wards. Know how to beat itemize, sometimes it’s better to start defensively than building the damages, sometimes it’s better to go offtank/bruiser than full ap assassin. It should be noted that u might not have to go deathcap so can supplement with something for survivability instead.

Too often I see low elo players save their ults and die as a result. Learn to use it more.
