Toxicity, why should or why shouldnt it be reportable?

I apologize ahead of time if this isn't posted to the correct board

Hello all, I am XxRokasxX, I have been playing LoL since season 2 and have never received any sort of ban or punishment since a month or two ago when I received a 2 week ban out of the blue for apparent "toxicity" If I am such a toxic player why have I never been punished with so much as a chat ban for over 2 years and just randomly get stuck with a 2 week ban? Then I got a 20 game chat restriction AND a 6 draft game ban from ranked about a week ago and I log on today and am greeted with a message stating my account was once again banned for 2 weeks.

I openly admit that yes I get frustrated sometimes, so does everyone especially when the game is meant to be competitive. But then again, there shouldn't be a reason for casual players to play ranked at all if they aren't serious about it. I want to climb the ladder and better my skill as a player, why should I have to deal with players who don't care about doing good or winning in RANKED. Then when I try to give suggestions to these players as to how we can win the game and how they should build against their lane opponent when they are struggling to win their lane they choose to not listen and feed some more, then when my patience runs out I am the guilty one?

Now, please don't start forming opinions yet I want you to make sure to see this from the perspective of all players involved including me.

Ok, so then what is my argument for why I shouldn't be repeatedly targeted for bans due to relatively minor offenses (Yes I would consider foul mouthing in a game that is rated T a minor offense)? It's simple, due to LoL ever growing popularity the Tribunal system has become a terrible thing for one reason and one reason only, it is run by the community itself. What I mean by this is that there are so many players who have access to voting on rulings that the people who you may have been toxic to due to whatever reason even if they originally started the conundrum due to their feeding or lack of team play are able to vote against YOU in a case involving them. Last time I checked that is a blatant conflict of interest and greatly biases the ruling.

Yes I can be an asshole once in a while, but more often than not I try to maintain a highly sportsmanlike attitude towards both my team and the enemy team yet for some reason when riot audits my account they decide to judge me based only on the couple of games in which I had a negative attitude versus the majority of games in which I maintained a positive attitude.

But there is one question I want to address most of all and that is why toxicity is a bannable offense in the first place? Is it that you are concerned about younger players getting offended? This game is not meant for young children, it is highly competitive and requires practice and dedication to get good at. Why should offensive language be an issue for a community of gamers who are expected to be at least 13 years old to play this game? It is not your fault as a business if some children decide to lie about their age during signup and then proceed to get offended by community which is expected to be of a more mature age. You as a company have done what you are required to do as a company to discourage younger kids from playing this game and if they lie and sign up anyway then they are fully at fault for anything that ends up offending them.

In all honestly how many people who play this game are legitimately affected emotionally by someone telling them to "go fuck themselves" I'm not talking about "that's not nice to say" I'm talking how many of you get seriously effected on an emotional level when someone you don't know and will probably never meet in your life tells to some profanity over the internet? I guarantee that 80% of verbal abuse reports have nothing to do with the person who is filing the report actually being offended but instead just them reporting because they themselves are "salty" and want to get back at the person they are reporting for most likely roasting them in /all chat.

So if any of you have actually read through this, what are your opinions? Have you ever been banned or restricted from chat yourself and did you think you deserved it or not? My personal opinion is that toxicity should not be reportable, this community should be mature enough to handle some salt and not cry about it item 3070 Amumu item 3073

There are a whole bunch of moral questions and answers when it comes to the topic of people being assholes to one another, however there is really only one thing that matters in the end. ** This game belongs to Riot, and they make the rules.**

They could make not being toxic a reportable offense if they so choose. Their word is law according to that agreement every single player has signed. It is by their decree that toxicity is reportable and bannable. It is because they willed it to be so.

That situation would make me frustrated but not enough to shout obscenities. Yeah we lost the game but not because of infighting, we lost because they had the better team. You yourself said that you were playing with bronze players. The lower tiered players, myself included, aren't skilled enough to follow all players in a team fight. They might not have seen Fiora ult in or, due to their poor judgement, thought that killing the inhibitor was more important then peeling fiora off of you.

Imagine your scenario but instead of on LoL it happened during a board game, or basketball. You see someone bashing their teammates for not being good enough and how would you feel? Are you guys really ok with verbally abusing someone who doesn't play well? That's like making fun of someone with autism.

Also not everyone has thick skin. Insults can hurt, and repeated abuse makes any games less fun. Imagine a fighting game where. due to a quirk of the sound design. the background music constantly blurts out racist remarks, yes you can get used to it, yes you can mute it, but it still takes away from your enjoyment of the game.

Tribunal has been down for almost a year. Riot staffers personally banned you.

But there is one question I want to address most of all and that is why toxicity is a bannable offense in the first place?

The short answer is that most people don't like playing with jerks.

  1. You need to realize you are not good. In fact you are bad. I am bad. Difference is, I admit it and seek to improve, meaning that I can get close to my skillcap imposed on me by my limited mechanics, rather than be held back by my attitude and being bad at strategy. It also means that I can recognize to improve by playing champs that cater to my strengths (farming, strategy and late game objective control, which I can do best as a jungler/top laner) rather than play flashy OP meta champs down in mid and bot that don't favor my strengths. That is why I am high gold and you are bronze. You keep trying to be "good" and "pro" instead of trying to be "not bronze".

  2. You are wasting time by looking at all-chat. There is literally NOTHING useful the enemy team can say to you, so why waste it? For someone that thinks of ranked as a serious matter, you sure are paying alot of attention to and wasting alot of time on things that actively reduce your chances of winning.

  3. Why are you frustrated in ranked? I had games where everyone instalocks their roles, I get forced into a role I don't main and it turns out I'm the only one not feeding. Oh well, shit happens. I'm more frustrated by ppl that think they're good, make shit calls or disregard jungler/top strategy calls, then get caught due to arrogance and lose the game, because its not taking a free loss (everyone takes free losses once in a while) but because they're throwing a winning game due to their arrogance, not even due to being all that bad.
