New Champion

Dr Havok··10 votes·2,213 views

The longest gap between champion releases to date was 3 months and 5 days between Tahm Kench and Kindred. As of right now we've gone 3 months and 12 days since the release of Camille which is the new longest record. Just found that interesting, and curious that they haven't even announced a new champion, since we're still a few weeks after announcement before its released. Here's to hoping we hear something soon.

At this point id rather no more new champions, seeing camille was their last release.

Maybe riot should not let interns design champions.

last year was actually pretty good aside from camille we gotKled Illaoi IvernJhin Taliyah AurelionSol none of which are particularly bullshit some are annoying but none are busted by design

Jhin
"Not busted by design"

doodlebob6661 votes

jhin isn't naturally busted he just is given to much cc for how much damage he has, reducing one of the two would balance him out, on the other hand kalista needs her hops to survive so removing that would not balance her, you would need to give her some other form of mobility to balance her out but that would require reworking another part of her kit and turning her into a fundamentally different champ,

I think that it's precisely amount of cc he had that makes him busted by essence. A fed Kalista is less useful than an average jhin beczude of this ridiculous cc - for the range it has.

doodlebob6661 votes

yeah but even that can be changed without completely reworking him because thats not the core of his identity the way hopping is for kalista, you could completely remove his root and just put a bit of extra damage on a hit on a marked target and most jhin mains would still love him can't do the same with kalista

AurelionSol IS SO FUCKING COOL, TOO BAD HE IS SO HARD TO PLAY. RIOT PLEASE! Amumu

they stated like in january? i think that after camille there would be a longer gap since the start of this year they are focusing more on reworks and VGU's for other champions but towards the end of this year the new champ schedule should be back closer to normal

Mecha MaIphite6 votes

A lot of the reworks sort of feel like new champions. New Galio seems like he's going to be completely different from the old one, except for a few small gimmicks.

We got 2 full on reworks (as of next patch) they didn't really have enough time to introduce us to a new champion. But the good thing is that they got some extra time to work on their upcoming champ (and maybe they won't fuck him/her up) I am personally hoping to see a new (unique) assassin or an adc

It is more likely than not a support champion. Some players have speculated that Support is the next champ to rise.

I hadn't even noticed. There's so much else going on with Galio, the Tank Update, and the current issues League has. Do we really need another new champion so soon?

actually i think meddler said in a post a few weeks back that it was indeed a support

They mentioned before the Galio rework release that the next couple new champs would come out rapid fire after he's cleared PBE.

They also consider large scale reworks like Galio to be equivalent to new champs in terms of how their design schedule works (that is, how they allocate assets for visual, audio, bug fixing, etc.), so not seeing a new champ in a long time is mostly because they aren't pushing for insane quantity of output 24/7.

So, we should expect something as soon as Galio patch alnds live?

Me likes it.

I honestly don't want any new champions... The game already has so many and they just create more problems.

Lil Fella 2131 votes

Good. No new overloaded or useless (NEVER IN-BETWEEN WITH RIOT) champs until they get these reworks live and bring some balance to the game

invisiblecat11 votes

Kindred actually had teasers in game to keep us interested in who the new champion may be The next champion hasn't had anything done, so it has been a lot longer

Raven Redeemed2 votes

I glad Riot doesn't put too many teasers in (or too early). Overwatch did this and people stop caring because there's no reason to get excited about something that you know nothing about to be released 6 months from now. Sombra pls.

Knoyle1 votes

I don't really care tbh. The last one was a nightmare imo. Ivern seemed like he was fine because he actually wasn't overtuned on release and even though he may be a strong champ now it doesn't feel like he is the type of champ you can grab and "lolmydmg" stomp games with while only having around 10 games on the guy.

Velzard of Koz1 votes

They said soon they'll come with explanation why the time gap and also with reveal of the direction of the next champ.

MonkeyMadness1 votes

TBH, this game cannot handle more champs. It's already hardcore dying under its own weight. I know way too many people that have left this game because of how shit the balance is and frankly just how crap the game has become, and part of the problem is the sheer volume of shit that Rito has created for themselves to balance. Better to rework outdated crap than add new stuff for the time being.

Arsenic Sulfur1 votes

The game was always a balance nightmare and was destined to be one from the start. It's impossible to balance a game with THIS many variables. So imperfect balance is the only option.

Hoping for an ap assassin but another support would be fun

Illaoi Jhin Ivern and you want more annoying champions? No thanks

Jihyobda1 votes

They want to release Galio first if I'm not mistaken

Honestly, I'm fine not being as pressured to buy the new champion, and being able to save Ip for those costy runes/rune pages
