Ryze´s ult

Hi guys and girls, before I say anything else, thank you for reading my post. Soo, I have been a main ryze since the lastest rework came out, and I have found myself pretty comfortable with the champion. Anyhow, he has a problem, and is a big one, the same one that champions like kalista, azir and others have confronted. They are overpowered in competitive but weak in solo Q. I believe I have a solution for this. My belief is that it is nothing but the ultimate what makes ryze a difficult to balance champion. My opinion is that it should be eliminated, it is an extremely inconsistent hability. With a huge, extremely diffucult to use potential. My idea for ryze ultimate, and I apologise if someone has already suggested this, is an ult that consist of a passive and a active. The active would give ryze a very small buff, maybe more resistance, maybe spellvamp, but in a very small quantity. The passive however, is what makes the ult really interesting. My idea is that it allows ryze to get extra cdr. IT DOES NOT GIVE HIM CDR, but only allows him to buy over the cap that we have now. This way, in my opinion, riot could be able to work around his damage and be able to balance him more effectively in the future. Thank you for reading this and leave your thoughs in the comments.

Have a good day on the Rift.

Nah.

His ult is fine, it's not what makes his kit powerful. He's like Pantheon - made to be a powerful fighter without an ultimate. Giving him a combat-oriented ultimate would tip him too far over.

My belief is that it is nothing but the ultimate what makes ryze a difficult to balance champion.

Then you have not taken much of a look into Ryze's history.

Ryze has ALWAYS been hard to balance with high performance in pro games and poor performance in solo queue and his kit has ALWAYS depended on spamming skills (which used to be 100% targeted) to deal a ton of dps. Having a weird utility ultimate with a lot of subtleties and a variety of uses is a new thing to him so it cannot be the source of his historical problems.

I am a Malzahar Main. But I did try Ryze out for a while after the rework.

Ryze's ult is total crap... its about as useless as it comes.
It almost impossible to use properly without a full team of people that are coordinating on coms. Add to that the delay in getting activated and the amount of time it takes to have everyone step into the circle. Its really so bad for an ult. I feel bad for Ryze players.

Now, if you convert Ryzes Ult into a Sivir / KLED Ult... then you got some game. Because there is no delay and anyone nearby can actually use it.

I have an alternative suggestion. Make the launch area slow enemies...possibly through the launch and afterward for a second or two. Then at least new/mid-level Ryze players could use it as an escape for self and team (ult away from combat and/or leave a slow behind as you run away (toward the landing zone...out of combat)).

As it is now, if you're not an excellent Ryze player, you basically only have 3 buttons to learn, because R is just an opportunity to kill yourself and your team.
