Help with my Nidalee Gameplay in lane

I've always played a ton of Nidalee throughout all my accounts. I haven't played league since August, 2014 so obviously a ton has changed. Right now I'm really struggling with Nidalee in what to build and where she excels. I've tried jungling with her and do awful every time but that could be because the jungle is completely different than the season 4 that I remember.

Nidalee is by far my favorite champion and I prefer to play her in every single role (except adc) as often as possible. When I used to do this I had an 80% win rate using her, now I'm struggling to go 50%. What do you guys build on her? There's a ton of item changes now so I'm not sure what new items would be decent. I heard there were a lot of nerfs to her throughout the last year including damage to her spear. I'm fine with that but I'm just struggling to find a way to compensate. Should I be building tankier and be using my q as a way for me to engage? Or should I still rely on trying to be a long range nuke even though the damage just doesn't feel as significant. Every guide I've looked up has her in the jungle which is my least preferred role. Any info you guys could share would be greatly appreciated!

Also, in the event that nidalee is just not playable in lane anymore, what do you guys think would be another champion that is as diverse as Nidalee and still offers utility?

TL;DR: What should I build on mid/top/support Nidalee nowadays?
