Bring back honorable opponent?

Honor System: Summoner Icons

I'e played league for 5 years, and more often than not, I find enemies who are so chill and very sportsmanlike, they don't BM and aren't toxic. I don't know why it was taken away with the new honoring system. It would only help our honor levels go up so why not re-add it? It wasnt hurting anything to have it there, especially when an opponent really made a difference in the game. My most recently played game there was an enemy riven that really made my blood pump and made me have to think about how he'd come to get me (I was a carry). I had a ton of fun even though we ended up losing that game. (Shoutout to that riven!) I'd love to see it come back. Just my two cents. [sg-lux]

Ya, removing any encouragement of being nice to the enemy team was a huge mistake, and even thinking of doing that is bizarre.

If i keep my all chat permanently muted, how would i ever know if my opponents were honorable? i'm not exposing myself to cross team "banter" or abuse just so i can find needles in haystacks. If opponents were honorable, then their team should honor them.

  1. You muting all chat doesn't mean your team has it muted.

  2. We have different types of honors, from good game, to helpful, honor opponent means they were specifically nice to the other team. Your teammates cant honor you for being nice to the enemy team, there is no choice for that.

Your teammates can honor your actions that benefited the team personally, "honorable opponent" is a pointless statistic that isn't differentiated clearly in what it actually means.

Should i honor an enemy if they benefited my team? Doesn't that mean they were feeding on purpose for causing their team to lose in such a way? Where do you define what "honorable opponent" means?

Yes please. It discourages BM, "ggez" and basically opponents being dickwads.

No, it won't discourage BMing as most people wouldn't care whether they get "honorable opponent" or not. If your argument was solid, the toxicity would mostly be curbed because people would care if they even get honored in the first place.

"Honorable Opponent" is not going to happen anytime soon as this is a black box. You're not playing with the enemy team, you don't know if they're honorable or not by their actions alone. If they don't share their chat history in that particular game, you have no idea if they're flaming or not in a said game. Giving praise in such unknown circumstances defeats the purpose of such a vote as you know more about your own teammates than your enemies.

They can't make money with that so you can forget it, won't happen, they would much rather work on EAternal$ than actually make a good game or listen to their non-whales.

Im sure in time theyll implement a system where you can spend 750 rp to honor an opponent. Gotta monetize those basic features after all right Riot? [sg-miss-fortune]

Pretty sure people honored the person who got them fed

I'd say a solid 50% of my games there is someone on the enemy team who has been the most honourable person in the game, but Rito just can't seem to comprehend that someone might actually respect someone on the enemy team more than the 4 other people on their own side.

As a Supp Main, I usually want to honour the enemy Supp or Jung for putting up with some toxic bullshit from their team's carries, usually because the people on my team who are doing well are often toxic asshats (plus I am NEVER honouring anyone who says 'Honour me')
