Starting as ADC - Ezrael?

Hey everybody,

Im a semi-new player here, just about to ding level 30 and strongly considering maining ADC / jungle.

I've recently played a few matches on Ezrael, but I only played him as AP mid laner. Now Im starting to take him into the ADC spot building attack damage, and am always disappointed. Am I doing something wrong?

It seems like AP Ezrael is doing AT LEAST 3 times the damage an AD Ezrael does, and they both die in a second. So, could somebody enlighten me, why would you build AD on Ezrael? :s

Could you provide me with some AD builds that perhaps do decent damage? I am just overall disappointed in this champion, will probably have to sell him, since I only ever take him to the mid lane to play AP cause of how disappointing AD Ez is to me.

I may be playing it wrong however, though I don't think so.

Thanks in advance

P.S.: How about does Lucian stand atm? He seems very interesting to me right now, does he do more damage than an Ezrael overall?

I personally find Ezreal a bit challenging to play with. Everything is skill shots with him. Both him and Luc have a good escape, that's nice. Luc is bursty with his two-shot passive thing, unloading spell-twoshot-spell-twoshot in rapid succession. But Luc has only 500 range... I find that challenging to deal with during the laning phase.

But I play Cait and Ashe, who have 650 and 600 range respectively. I prefer to have the advantage when it comes to trading (they shoot a minion, you shoot them) during the laning phase.

Just my two cents.

AD Ezreal scales late a bit better, with IBG is safer and provides decent CC. He is also just about the safest ADC you can play and has strong consistent poke in lane. Ezreal is very much a champion whose damage can fluctuate quite greatly. Sometimes he barely dents, sometimes he practically bursts.

Builds include things like Tear and IBG, although you can sub IBG with Trinity although you trade survivability and mana in exchange for damage.

I would highly recommend not refunding him, you will regret it. Don't waste your refunds on ip purchases, especially a champion as cheap as Ezreal. Use them for RP or at least 6300 champs you don't like.

Thanks for your input Fondling!

I maybe should've noted I'm mainly looking for a champ with whom I can deal a lot of damage. That's my main goal. I can see how useful Ezrael kit is for kiting, dueling and all that, but I just don't feel he adds all that much to a teamfight.

I agree it's a very safe pick, I very rarely die or have hard trouble with anything in general, but I'm not getting the kills through either, and that's what Im trying to focus on right now.

I feel like I wont be able to push out of the "low elo hell" with an Ezrael, cause he is more team oriented (utility), whereas with Jinx for example, I can just boom boom boom.

Thanks alot for your input aswell, Azure Hamster. I don't have trouble landing skill shots actually, I have it all set on smart cast and I'm landing most of them with no trouble. I just feel like the damage with Ezrael just isnt there. Im gonna hold onto him for now I guess, and see what future brings.

Hopefully getting Lucian next :)

Kind regards

Bot lane Ezreal usually builds Muramana/Manamune, IBG, and Bork. He'll get a high damage dealt over the course of the game because he constantly pokes things, but his actual sustained dps in a fight is only mediocre and he's treated more like a utility champion who supports his team by kiting. Corki and Varus do a similar thing by having a ridiculous range on their poke, but they're more about contributing raw damage and bursting targets.

Lucian will probably deal less damage in an average game than Ezreal, but he actually has a higher dps output and can duel a lot of champions if he can get in range.

Thanks for your input aswell Quepha! :)

Would you recommend any ADCs that are more teamfight oriented?

Because right now, Sivir Sivir is my go-to champ. I'm actually pretty decent at staying behind my front line and staying alive in teamfights, and I love how much damage I can output with her, cause of the great AoE my Q and W give.

Champs I'm mainly interested in (that look awesome to me and really wanna try playing, hopefully maining aswell) include:

Lucian Lucian Kalista Kalista Draven Draven Corki Corki

They're not really limited to that, but these are the main ones I really like the idea of (besides Ezrael and Sivir ofcourse).

Seeing as I prefer to engage in teamfights, and I want to really focus on that aspect the most, which of these would you recommend, or add in any?

The thing is, I want to really get into playing 2 or 3 champions in the ADC spot. I want to get really good with those 3, so I can main them, and start building my game on that. Right now, Im just sitting here with Sivir, but will give Ezrael another try :)

Kind regards

I really like Ashe as an adc because of her simple mechanics and solid damage combined with utility. Although YMMV.
