AFK/Leavers/boosters A suggestion
The purpose of this post is aimed towards help balancing the game play of the players themselves. So, I believe this is the correct forum thread.
So, over the time I have noticed a change where if people are afk and somehow you win, the person who goes afk doesn't gain the LP from the win. I feel that there should be some LP reduction of some kind to the team with the afker. I'm sure it's more predominate at lower elo but in order to basically climb elo it feels as though (if you subtract the games with afkers) you have to have a very high win rate. From my experience the only way to win a game with an afker is if you have a large gold lead over the opponent AND you have the ability to close the game. (at lower elo much harder to do). I feel as though the person who afk should have a harsher punishment except for a regular "loss." I do understand that if they keep afking/leaving they have the "possibility" of being banned. But over the large community of league of legends there are -a lot- of leavers in which you might never be matched with ever again.
For afker's/leavers I would suggest a 1/4th reduction in LP loss to the people who didn't afk and the LP that is reduced be added to the AFKer. (so 2x the LP loss) Therefore the total LP distribution for win/loss is the same. I mean people sometimes have to leave and that's fine but it should come at more of a cost than a normal loss and a slim chance of being banned/punished. I don't know the statistics of afker/leavers but if it's anywhere near 10% that's 1/10 players. For a 5v5, every game there is a chance of an afker.
Also, there should be an option to report someone for possible boosting which then should be reviewed by a riot employee. Such as if they notice a shift in IP address and win rate of a substantial amount. (e.g. 50% to 80+% over some number of games) Boosters are a little more difficult to spot for the player in the game until they are 10/0 by 10 minutes in. Then the game becomes very unenjoyable. I'm not sure about everyone else, but since the season is coming to an end I've been experiencing much more unbalanced/one sided games from a much earlier time in the game. Especially close to the tier edges such as b1-s5, s1-g5, etc... Just this last game I had a silver 4 with a super high win rate in a s1/g5 game. Not sure if it's a smurf or a booster but the person definitely had many ranked games played in s5-s4 then recently gained -a lot- of mmr.
Thanks.
