Swain rework ruined his mid to late game?

If you couldn't tell already by my name I mained swain- for about a year, used to love how strong he was against people who just wanted to dive him without thinking ahead. But with his rework I feel as though he just isn't doing as much damage. The change to his Q isn't too terrible, atleast you can mark a target with your e. But his ult having that one second cooldown between hits to the same target is detrimental to his whole appeal. And in his ults tooltip it says it can release up to 5 Ravens at a time but it feels like only a max of two or three are released. And in a one versus one fight his ult feels incredibly lacking. Anyone else feeling the pain of this swain rework?

Most of swains problems are numbers related. The new mechanics for him are better once the numbers are ironed out.

Yeah I'm hoping it's a numbers issue that they will fix. I hope they didn't just ruin him and let him fall about the waste line. We don't need another urgot.

His q is much better now that it makes sense to use if on minions. What I think they did not account for his how much less reliable the damage leveling q is compared to e.

Oh yeah. That's swain 101 though. Level priority is pretty much E>Q>W and R whenever possible.

Leveling your e isn't as good anymore. They basically removed all the incentive to level it first.

So is Q his priority now?

Honestly prolly W>Q now. If you strict level Q they just walk out of it before any secondary tick. Also if torment is not on them you'll blow the majority of the damage on well everything. Sad though because W is still hurtin from the preseason nerfs.

He's just in a bad spot right now.

His e has the 20% damage amp across all levels and does less damage than it used to. Leveling q first helps you have some wave control and it more reliable damage than your w.

It's not just numbers man, that's for sure. Due to Swain's damage amp, he wants to ideally hit all of his spells during that damage amp, which also feels satisfying. But the new range of his Q encourages him to use it before his E since the range difference is so high. There is a lot of things going wrong with swain right now, it is not just numbers.

The amount of change brought to this new swain's play style has not been properly supported by his kit, I feel like some parts of his kit want to do one thing while other parts of his kit want to do something completely different. In this sense, swain is having an identity crisis!
