What is really the best way to play a ranked game?

Hi, im Bodast and I have a question for everyone, what is really the best way to play a ranked game? Because in the professional scene its all about who is proactive, but how can you be proactive in a game where you don't know any of the players on your team and most of the time cant rely on them to help you. I would like to hear what everyone thinks, is it better to play proactively in a game of 4 people you don't know or wait for the enemies to mess up?
