Boots of Swiftness

Lets be honest, boots of swiftness is a terrible boot choice, It gives +10 movespeed over every other boot(besides mobi's) which you can get anyway for free from Magical footwear, which a TON of champions already take in their runes, the slow resist from swifties is actually worse than the slow resist from Mercury treads, these boots need a buff. My suggestion would be to make the boots make you able to walk through minions permanently.

Tenacity only effects the duration of the slow, not its effectiveness... Other than that you are right for the most part, but balancing boots is one of the hardest things to balance in the game so I doubt they would try and touch that.

tbh i am bad lol4 votes

That's actually good idea. These boots are rarely used.

Simple, add the tier 3 boots back into the game. Some years ago, Riot said that they will eventually come back but they denied talking about them since.

The slow resist from Swifties is actually better than mercs. Situationally, swifties are the correct and optimal boots.

They DO cost less than mercs, besides.

You want Ghosting added as a boots feature. I'll suggest that's maybe a little unbalanced.

On the other hand, who cares?

They’re actually better than item 3117 if you’ve got a cloud drake + an item that gives %MS.

Riot nerfed them a while back cause everyone was running them and so they thought the boots were too powerful but the reason players were grabbing them was actually due to everyone abusing the spellthief item and haunting the rift with spooky ghosts

There used to be a lot more interesting boots options... enchantments...

Look what I found...

On release, Swifties gave +90 MS... haha, can you imagine?

Boots of swiftness are still a great counter to Rylai’s users and champions who rely on strong slows, like Malphite. I still take them occasionally and find great success with them.

I build swifties every once in a while. I remember I had a game recently where the entire enemy team had slows. The swifties definitely came in handy.

Wait, give Boots of Swiftness "Ghost"?

I'd be down for it.

they're superior when you have in-combat lingering abilities but they could use a small buff

I don't know, they often have the highest winrate on a lot of champions and are pretty underrated IMO.

The +10 movespeed and slow can be a big deal on close-range champions who need to get close.

The main reason you take them is because they're cheaper than the other options.

I think the Slow Resistance is a valueable stat even if it doesn't feel like it, I would avoid buffing that stat drastically.

As for the Ghosting effect I would rather have it be activated when channeling an ability or when using an ability and you are ghosted for X amount of seconds, because having a permanent Ghost effect on Swifties at it's current cost would be somewhat gamebreaking since so many mobile champions could abuse this effect...

I'm down for some buffs to Swifties but this approach needs to be taken with heavy consideration. Maybe even just increasing the Slow Resistance if you are channeling an ability or are continuously affected by a Slow which decreases it's effectiveness, which is capped at X% (but even then I would think that this increase should be somewhat minor).

I don't know, it just feels very risky to do any changes when Swifties aren't that bad just a little underrated in my opinion.
