i dont understand the rating system

the rating system makes little to sense to me ive had games where i carried hard and got an a had the most dmg turrets and had a far above kda and got objectives participation (dragon baron inhib) yet only get an A like i had a viegar game 24/6/10 i had lower cs because i stoped focusing spells on minnions once i began to snowball since u get the stacks faster landing skills on enemy my only really bad stat was ward but i had a pink ward in position for ~15 min so i had no need to place another as i was playing on that side of river so why does it only give me an s Amumu this isnt the only game i think i should have had a higher score on but this one kinda made me mad

It rates you based on a sample of games played on the same champion in a certain timespan. If so to speak, people suck ass on it, then you as well dont need to play amazingly good. It also take in account roles. For example darius top could get an A, but an S with the same score as support.

so u if you play meta you have less a chance to get an s is what im understanding

That is correct. You would have to play very good to get it.

that is dumb its basically encouraging off meta to get s because if i play viegar ive never got an s and i usually have a 3/1+ kda (the plus is assists) and an average ward score and usually the highest objective score (accounting in assists) yet because its a meta laner i get screwed on score, the rating system needs an overhual to account for match score over all player average

It rates you in relation to other people who played that champion in that position, not on how you did personally in the game. It takes many factors into consideration, and compares them to others who are playing that champion. If you don't get an S, it means there are people playing that champion in that position who are doing a lot better, which is shaping the rating scale.
