What counters fizz?

He seems super broken op. His pole hop is a built in skillshot dodger, and it also deletes half your health. It would still be extremely powerful if they completely removed the damage it dealt. He has a vlad pool that does not damage himself. What counters him? Looking at

I see Panth mid? Are the only counters panth mid/galio rework (who is op against all champs), or Talon who is also OP against all champs as a God Teir champ (http://www.nerfplz.com/2017/03/2017-best-champions-tier-list-solo_28.html).

It seems the only counters to fizz are just super overpowered champions, and he has no real counters.

The only counters to fizz seem to be literally the top two strongest top laners in the game (panth/talon), highest win rate tops.

lst time I went blitz mid against fizz I went 13/0/13 idk why I just go full tank runes and all ap and fizz seems to play awkwardly against me its great

Fizz is an assassin that is heavily reliant on sheen. You can bully him for a few levels till he backs and gets sheen and reaches level 6. Once fizz gets sheen its his first big powerspike. Dont fight him during this phase. He is incredibly strong.

One of Fizz's biggest weaknesses is dealing with safe mages. Playing something like Ahri, viktor, or Ziggs is a great way to deal with Fizz. You never want to get into a burst duel with him tho. cause he will win. What you want to do is just farm and poke him and since he is melee there isnt anything he can do about it unless he wants to tower dive you. And if he does you just CC him and kill his ass.

When i play into a fizz as a strong mage i like to bully him in initial laning without allowing him to fight back. I do this by only last hitting. I dont attack the minions until i can kill them in 1 auto. If the fizz attacks even once before that he will push the lane and make your life easier. While im waiting for CS to get low i just poke the fuck out of him while staying safe in my minion line. Since this is before he gets sheen if he tries to kill you he will lose 1/2 his HP to minions. now you just need to do the other half before he does your whole hp bar (which isnt that hard since he has like 0 burst before sheen). Once he gets sheen tho..... welcome to beta town. The town in which you have to be a beta or you will get murdered. After this phase you just farm and poke him and just stay safe till he gets frustrated and dives you.

He's super weak early and can't kill you unless he lands his ult anymore. Even if he lands it a quick Zhonya will remove all his damage.

I always like to say "the best counter to Fizz is a working brain... unless youre playing against item 3078 Fizz xd".

Not pushing early unless you know what youre doing, getting item 1057 or item 3155 early or taking summoner 21 / summoner 3 should counter him well enough

Fiddlesticks Counters Fizz hard mid lane.

Between silence Fear and the fact his jumps dont cancell your W. You can hit him with all 3 and its easy.

By the time you hit 6 and he hits 6 you should have a Abys done by this time so his ult doesnt isnta kill you ... Profit.

This is what keeps him under control. If you make him dodge when he can't get that damage on you, then his burst is shot.

As someone who plays Fizz a good bit, i can attest to the fact that if you're playing a mage, Zhonya's will shit on his combo. Use it when the Shark is about to come up so after 1 second of it being attached or so and BOOM you just negated like 50% of his burst damage. if youre playing a melee champ, youre going to have a much harer time since they just buffed his w. Build MR as soon as possible in that case. He is very reliant on being able to auto you with the empowered w after youve been bleeding for 2 seconds. So just walk away from him after that or use some form of cc. If you can bait out his troll pole and he just lost all forms of safety aside from summoners or items (if he has them). Otherwise, just respect his lvl 6 and his potential damage output and you will be fine. Good luck in your games against him!

Annie is a strong counter, if you know what you're doing.

Hit him with Q every time he goes to CS.

Never try to stun him with anything but Q. If he tries to dodge it with his E, you'll still have the stun available for your W or Ult.

Use your Molten Shield whenever he ults you and you have a strong chance of surviving.

Take Barrier if you're inexperienced with Annie.

Karma her w stays attached to him while he's on the pole plus she can shield through his burst

to answer this question you must first define "countering fizz"

are you trying to kill him or are you trying to win? They aren't the same thing

Raka and Janna can screw him pretty badly. Janna can just deny his engage and Raka can throw her silence on his target so he he's a sitting duck once he gapcloses

summoner 21 and summoner 3 although i prefer barrier. I play Orianna, bully the hell out of him pre 6, and if he tries to all in.. pop barrier and kill him. If he backs early, you gain a lvl advantage and cs advantage over him, then he simply can't kill you without jungle help or you making a huge mistake. It's more a problem if he roams. Then that's more macro strategy which applies to basically every assassin.Ping missing, ward, push and chip turret, and maybe follow depending on the circumstances.

Cassiopeia works pretty well. Orianna can survive and wave clear against him pretty well. item 3157 is amazing against fizz. Just go gold for his fish and he loses a lot of his damage. summoner 3 or summoner 21 are summoners you want in this matchup.

From a Diamond fizz main.

Mid: Oriana, Malzahar, Heimer, Kassadin, Lisandra, Yasuo( Skill matchup but a good yasuo shuts Fizz down lvl 1 and 2), Vladimir (Neither wins).

Top as bruiser: Fiora (same as yasuo), Mordekaiser, Renekton, Irelia (Yas Fior category), Gragas (Biggest counter), ap Shaco etc.

This game will never see balance an 0/2 fizz can still one shot you mid no prob and there's nothing you can do about it unless your team is good enough to help you through but that's not gonna happen in solo queue so if you see a fizz on the next team and you realise he's good then don't bother to continue playing
