Autofill brings game/queue quality down

WHY U NO GANK··1 votes·206 views

I may be wrong or opposed but in my honest opinion, as the title of my post suggests, brings the quality of games in any queue down. I get that with the lack of people willing to play certain roles, queue times are stunted at times, but sometimes I honestly feel that I'd rather wait a while longer than play a game where someone complains about having to fill or takes a lane hostage. There's a reason why people try to avoid blind pick.

I am no long time player (Played since 2015 unlike those who've been playing since as long as 2013) and I haven't experienced any high elo gameplay since I stick to normals mainly (and suck xd), but it's something I have come to feel quite strongly now.

Maybe it really is not autofill which is at fault but rather the lack of penalty for people who choose to disregard lane roles. I've had multiple games with such people in the past and hardly have I ever seen them get penalized in any way. I feel that in the long run, autofill is an idea executed with good will but seems to not have the exact weight on a lot players to be perfect.

Outliers should be taken into account, but should also be ignored when making general statements about the whole. Trolls will always exist, and are not a product of autofill.

This is most definitely the case. Particularly if they don't type in chat it is pretty darn hard for Riot to detect these people right now, so they don't get punished nearly as often as the community feels they should.
