This is an old Overpowered card

A simple effect but overpowered for the time.

This is a NORMAL card nowadays

Do you see the similarity with LOL? Champions used to be simpler and straightforward. MasterYi got a simple kit focused on mobility and damage. Lux got a kit for CC and Damage

New champs/ reworks (Aatrox, Pyke , Zoe ) now have in their kits, mobility, damage, soft CC, hard CC, range abilities, life regen, etc.

Riot is replacing strategy for over the edge overpowered champs, only to have little peaks of profit.

At this rate maybe lol will have the same fate as Yugioh, a game played only by a few who try to remember their glory days.

Jhin's passive in a Yu-Gi-Oh card.

League is nowhere near Yugioh powercreep tho. Old cards literally have better versions now and there is 0 reason to play them. Newer kits are maybe more exciting, but old champs like Jax, Trundle, Mundo, etc. are all still good right now

You mean we're getting MOBAS ON MOTORCYCLES?

High Paladin is far from normal my dood. At least post something that was broken and meta relevant like Satellarknights.

i tried to watch one of the newest yugioh episodes like 4 month ago or so since i loved the series as a child. i didnt understand anything. every time i get one of the "new" champs in aram for the first time and i read their skills im like "wow i didnt know they can do this or that aswell"

Yet Yi dominates all three of the champs you are propping up as the new normal OP champs. If you're going to try to assume that Old vs New = Weak vs Strong, You better come up with much weaker examples.

People complained about champions being simple and samey so now they stepped things up.

Power creep, happens in all games that constantly evolve, MTG, Hearthstone, PoE, if the game is constantly updating people want and expect better.

Tbh, I'd rather fight Yasuo and Irelia than Garen and Tryn any day.

Though, I do enjoy simpler champs with good skill expression like Lux, Poppy and Cait.

wtf is a pendulum

Well the complexity creep is kinda natural, because you can't do that much with simple abilities.

People want new champs to feel and play differently,so they can't just release more champs whose strategy is just "run up to the enemy and hit them with autoattacks" like MasterYi,they need to differentiate them in meaningful ways.

Not to mention that simple kits often lack counterplay as well, you can't really dodge most of Yis attacks, but you can dodge most of Yasuos or Irelias.

I've been saying League has a serious complexity creep problem for many months now. The threads just get downvoted because "lol you're too dumb to understand the game xd." No, the game isn't hard to understand, it's just a cluttered mess.

A card being overloaded with a bunch of effects (Ex. Pendulums) does not exactly make it stronger than every other card in the game. Even simple cards like Imperial Order would be potentially stronger.

Then again, Imperial Order makes every deck impossible to run since most decks run on Spell Cards.

Edit: I should've used Solemn Judgement as a better example since its more infamous and a cheaper negation tool in general

to be fair that is the natural progression of a game that exists longer than it ever should have existed. the card game was only there to promote the anime series, and it exploded 100x over than anyone would ever guessed. same thing happened to league. the game initially was not designed to be a long lasting game, but over the years it exploded and its forced to make content more interesting than what it was before.

What happened to Yu-Gi-Oh is the reason why I still play League At least you still have hope to win if you play Lux vs Zed in Yu-Gi-Oh there IS NO WAY A Dark Magician and Blue Eyes deck can beat any of the new decks Edit : I mean Old School decks in general

This card is infamous even in the yugioh community for being a block of text. it's not even that good to be honest. No relevant decks use it sooo. I wouldn't even call it a normal card

Blue Moon Wolf7/29/2018, 1:02:31 AM2 votes

I'll be honest, I don't think it would be that bad if they completely stopped making new champs and focused on updates. I know they want to release new champs so the game doesn't get stale, but isn't that what the updates are for as well?

This card to me is one of the most overloaded and strongest cards in Yu-Gi-Oh in my opinion.
