League just isn't fun anymore (Rant)

No Doubt league of legends been growing for the past 8 years. It's done both good and bad things in its goal towards becoming one of the most popular games in the world. I played thousands of games of league over the course of 4 years and met some incredible people.

As with most games, there comes a time where the game just plainly becomes stale or some other new big thing comes a long.

So far this Season 8 has been one of the most god awful experiences playing this game. League of legends used to be a game where I could start up de-stress and have fun, work with team8s, co-op to win a objective based game.

Now every time I que up for a game, I'm bombarded by unbelievably toxic cry baby players who delight in making their own team8s feel bad about themselves. Sure games get heated, people make mistakes etc, but it seems to me now a days everyone thinks they are pro-player and if you question them in any way the community automatically deems that "toxic".

I have no problems with w/e the devs do with the game, I personally don't mind change. It's the majority of the player base that really makes me not want to play. After every game, I just sigh and report the griefing/toxic players who usually intentionally throws the game to spite another flaming player. I just gotta have hope that eventually things will get better.

Fast forward 300 games, 176 of my games I had team8s who argued, threw leads, flamed, intentionally fed, threw temper tantrums, or had absolutely no idea how to play their champ/itemize. It's gotten to the point where I've even sent in 11 different support tickets reporting extremely abusive players.

I can't control other players, nor is it my job to police players while I'm in game. I play league to have fun, and as of late the amount of disgusting players I meet in-game is absolutely unacceptable. Half of the people in my games don't deserve to be playing ranked, and probably 1/3 of the total players in my games, still have a poor understanding of the game.

So much so that even after some of these players have played this game for years, itemization, team comps, and play style are completely alien to them. It almost feels like some of these players just play an autopilot mode. Normally I wouldn't care, but when people do this kind of crap in Ranked games, it really makes me sick.

I'm fed up with these god awful players in my games, and Riot sure as heck won't get rid of them because realistically that would kill probably half the player base. When league of legends first came out a majority of the players playing were veteran players who played games like dota, warcraft or other rpgs. In essence those players had a good understanding of the game, now since league is so popular you have a massive influx of players who dont understand objective based gameplay and have no desire to co-op because their ego's are so big.

I sincerely hope the League of Legends community changes, because I'm not sure how many more games I can handle dealing with crybaby toxic griefers. Hopefully Riot reads this message.If they don't t a chuck of players like me who enjoy the games core but are fed up these griefers, to eventually leave the game completely.

If you read this far, you truly are someone who cares about the game and the community. I wish you the very best, and GL in your future games. I honestly am not going to spend my free time playing a game where the players frustrate me to the point of almost wanting to rage. Never been penalized/muted, and I sure as heck wont be starting any time soon.

kid just mute all. the real problem here is not how toxic the community is, is how they constantly and how rapidly they changed the game. I cant play a game now because I was adc main for the entirety of time I played to get good, items champions metas are changing too fast for someone who can play 4-5 games a day (which is a lot). I feel I cant compete anymore, all the years I put into perfecting my role (ADC) have gone to garbage, they game me the finger and said fvck you. sry i just needed to vent :)

Probably because all the people who want to play a team game have moved on because the focus is no longer about cooperating as a team, its about funneling gold to one player so that guy can have all the fun, such as it is.

Also when the worst player in the game decides it instead of the best, its bound to ruffle some feathers since that's completely out of your control, riot's direction with the game this season is as much to blame as the players themselves.

lmao i did the exact same thing you did (the 300 games toxicity thing) and i found that in 97 out of 100 games my teammates argued, and in 81 of those 97 games the argument turned into flame.

I wonder if EU is less toxic than NA or if I'm just being lucky. It's rare that I see ppl being toxic etc. Might aswell be because I don't play rankeds. Are ppl toxic also in normals in your games?
