Can I earn a Hextech Chest on champion I already earned a chest on

So I have already earned a chest for Gnar but now when I try to earn Chest's with Gnar I am unable to do so. Is it not possible to earn a chest on a champ you already got a chest with?

its one chest per season on each champion wait till S7 comes for next Gnar chest

You can only get one chest per champion during one season.
