New placements are complete and utter garbage

I did my placements for the preseason and went 8-2, pretty good. I ended the season g2 after climbing several tiers in the last few tiers from g4 in a week and couldnt quite get back into plat (i decayed from there after taking a break). Based on my placements i got placed in g1, witha bunch of diamonds and high plat players. At first I though "I'm utterly f'd" but soon realized it a great learning experience i climbed up to 95 lp almost at plat promos. Then ranked was unavailable... I thought oh well i can wait. Then they were gonna redo placements based on one game. "sure whatever matchw ill be against plats and whatnot and ill have to climb to get to promos again or if i win i might just get plat". We lost the game, toxic lower gold players and 2 teammates who had no idea how to play their champions (duskblade lee sin). I got placed in silver 3. How is that even relevant or possible? I lost almost 700 mmr in one game. My preseason record was even positive (17-8 or 18-7). I don't understand how with the number of games I had in preseason and climbing that I was placed 7 tiers below based on one loss.

Dude same fucking thing. I even made a rant post and emailed them. This is so stupid i played fifty games and was killing it. worked my way up and felt great about myself. now i'm fucking bronze and getting trolls. i fucking hate this game AND riot.

I got placed in bronze 5 after winning the extra promo game.

Because of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the original starting point (pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now WILL BE RESET AGAIN! The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.

I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!

So dont worry to much about the current placement!

Yeah, but those games were unbalanced in about 90% so they cant be used to get an accurate rank! This reset sucks, ... alot! but it was needed because the dmg was already done :/ But on the good side the matches should be better balanced and its only the preseason, so your rank does not mean alot! This 1 "extra" placement game just triggers a visual update, i does not influnece your rank! You were already reset, but the visuals needed to be updated by another game! This hole situation, where 99% of all guys dont know what exactly goes on, is rather unfortuned too :/

Perhaps it's worth noting that there isn't an inherent advantage to anyone in these messed up MMR games? It's literally random, which means a roughly 50% w/r is what you would expect. So if you go positive, especially over more games, it's because of that common denominator...

Just because the games had players of drastically differing skill levels doesn't mean that better players wouldn't have a positive effect on the outcome of the match, and vice versa...

Those matches could just as well have been taken into account.

Randomness doesnt equal fairness! We are talking about competitve which is a very serious matter, where "random matchmaking" cannot exist. Every game needs to have about equal teams to make ranking possible. Think about those guys who faced extremely overpowered enemys in all 10 games, never having a chance to win in the first place. And now you come to them und say: "hey, well those matches werent fair, but theoreticly they were fair on the outer level." I dont think that those would share your point of view :S

This reset, so hard it is, was the correct decision! Its frustrating, i know, but it really was the right decision! I think meddler said that those games are not completly lost, but i think their impact was reduced to bare noticable.

It's pretty much a fake title, you shouldn't get too fussed about it. I'd laughed if I got bronze or silver and just gonna play as normal. It'll be reset again.

Oh i dont care that much about preseason but ~99% of all players are not good informed right now, i only try to change that and try to make it clear :D
