What supports do you like laning with ADC players?

AtlasXV··1 votes·954 views

I have been collecting many people with support potential but few people actually answer the question when i ask. As a person who enjoys playing support, i think the ADC should pick their supp and i should be able to make do with any champ you guys pick.

Post your favorite support or champ with support potential that you think is worth a look. thnx for any feed back

if anyone mains adc who post on this, im looking for an experienced adc to practice with thnx.

Leona is the best support, no questions asked. She is good in any lane. She is literally my bae.

Second choices really depend on who I'm against.

  1. Annoying AF spam: Ezreal Corki -> Sona
  2. Escapes: Graves TwitchCaitlyn Kalista ->Morgana
  3. All-ins: Lucian Draven Vayne ->Lux OR Alistar (whichever you're better with)
  4. None of the above: MissFortune Ashe Jinx ->Thresh

Justification on Lux: I think Lux is a very underrated support. Her spam really, REALLY disengages the enemies from attacking, because they're never full health. When they do bother to engage, they can just be rooted, and then when I take out all of their health while they can't attack me, she can ult their stupid escapes and they die. I love Lux.

Ali is really the meta pick though, and he does the job equally well. He's just much more peel-oriented, so we won't always get that kill.

Note: If the enemy support is not tanky and does not have heals Annie Morgana, I LOVE Zilean. When he isn't countered, he is god-tier. Second note: It doesn't matter to me who you bring against Tristana, that's a guaranteed win for me.

But please bring Leona kthx.

I think Zyra is Better Lux as a support.

I think Zyra is Better Lux as a support.

I actually disagree on Lux being a support 100%. In the support role I don't ever see her pumping out enough damage, cc, or utility - she is short in all three, and not in the "can do multiple things" way. If she isn't getting kills or afk farming a lane I never see her become part of the game.

But I do agree with you about Zyra. In support she is like Lux 2.0, in that she can do all of that +1, but I still find her lackluster compared to all of what we see recently.

Not leona?

See, I love Leona. And I love what she can do. But in my honest opinion she, unlike most of the others, depends on her adc way too much. Yeah, you can position well and make plays, but if your adc doesnt follow up you just feed and then you are only worth your ultimate for the rest of the game. The games I do the best with Leona in are the ones where I just start roaming the moment I can and let my adc farm under turret. Most mids don't know what to do about a Leona flying in from behind them (especially with jungler support). Plus you can roam with the jungler through the opposing teams jungle and mmmm.

In most cases, as a support main/secondary adc player, I would prefer the support goes what the team needs and does their best to just help me make it through lane. It should be noted right here and now I am only platinum, but in my experiences that has always worked best for me in either role. You could play the most silly bot lane and, so long as you transition well into team activities, you now have a lead on the opposing team. Sometimes that means playing an actual support and sometimes that means playing Sion with smite. On a second account I literally played Ashe support more times than I played any other (all adc account) and instantly got placed in mid gold.

Anyway, to your real question, anything. Play anything. Until mid platinum you can get away with being just "good" with a handful of champions (and then get to diamond by playing a single champion ALL the time). If your passion is Master Yi support, more power to you, it will work after you try it in practice for the 100th time.

imo, the strongest champions in the game that has good laning/teamfighting potential are, as support: Ashe Annie Braum Darius Fiddlesticks Janna Lulu Quinn Syndra Zyra

Galio. Here is a rare pick, but I main Galio so I love him. He is actually pretty good when you get all-in'd, his poke is annoying to deal with and his CC ult is great too.

Dat ult so good, but dat pre-6 so...meh.

Gangplank is fun as hell to support as. Support Bank-Plank, He'll get you rich.

early game, he harrasses, and CS's(with relic shield) well with his Q, helps with ganks (yours and theirs) with his E, has sustain off his W (opposing Support permitting), and global utility with his R (securing kills, cutting off escapes, saving teammates, Stealing Dragon/Baron, and clearing waves at turrets)

His lack of hard CC and no gapcloser (with the exception of his High speed) does make him hard to support certain ADC's that have the same weaknesses. (varus, draven, etc). Exception to this is MF, Pirate lane Gangplank MissFortune > Reaper Lane Thresh Kalista

I'm not a main, but I do play adc pretty well. Caitlyn and Ashe are my favorites. I'll use Graves at times as well. I've been trying to get a handle on Kalista (proving difficult with aiming, dodging, and moving all mapped to right click :P)

In terms of support Leona is always nice to have. I can't think of a scenario where she isn't the stuff of nightmares. The stun lock and tankiness is extremely nice. She lacks the utility of some other supports, but if you're smart as an adc about your range and knowing when and when not to go in Leona's got you covered.

Thresh is always nice to have around as well. His W and Q and R are godsends. A move for killing, a move for saving, and a move for both. I literally feel safer with Thresh on my team. When tanks or crowds force you out of position the lantern can save you. That is a beautiful thing. I also believe his kit synergizes the best with Kalista. Her mobility is a double-edged sword at times as you can't cancel AA's. The lantern is nice to have. Also, Thresh is usually tanky. He's great to throw into crowds with R, or provide a makeshift flash so he can snag a runner with Q. His ranged AA's also work well with Kalista's W which is ungodly strong with some coordination. Then the R... well, their kits synergize well. End of story.

My other favored picks for sup (as an adc) depend more on player skill than the champ. I like Morg at times, but if you can't land a Q we have problems. I love Blitzcrank, but if you can't land a Q we have problems. I love Nami, but if you can't land bubbles, we have issues. Leona's hitbox is stupid big so I don't worry about her that much. People who can't land Thresh hooks don't bother me overmuch as long they can know how to use the lantern. A always love a good Lulu as well. I don't see her much, but I love having her around with her stuffed kit.

I like tanky supports with legitimate CC.

Leona, Thresh, Alistar, rare cases of a blitz.

The reason? Because I like to have that time provided by the CC to let me go ham alongside my support when we catch them or if they decide to go ham on me.

I don't like Braum because often times it is a niche pick: Our team has to be auto attack reliant and their team has to have either lots of skill shots or wants to run close quarters to get more braum procs.

I hate mage supports or support that want to sit far in the back of the minion wave with me.

Reason for that is because if they do no damage and/or have no CC it just puts more pressure on me to stay further back to farm and avoid harassment from not one but TWO players zoning me out.

Never mind the fact that these supports are also squishy so one false move on them or me can result in a death quicker and getting a bot lane to snowball out of control far too easily.

Zyra, Lux, Soraka come to mind and Morg (yes I said morg) but morg is rare case if they can perform well in snaring, zoning and shielding.

Thresh Morgana Regardless of who I'm playing, I'm always glad to have a Thresh or Morgana in my lane. The 2 of them are so versatile and powerful, they'll work with any ADC.

Jinx On Jinx, I need someone durable with high CC that can take the hits and lock people down. Jinx is the 2nd squishiest ADC in the game, it's VERY important that nobody is allowed to sit on my face. Leona BlitzcrankBraum All of these work great with her and even an honorable mention: Taric

Caitlyn Cait is relatively safe, I'll be glad to have almost any support with me that isn't named "Sona." Particularly ones that can enhance my autos whilst shielding or sustaing, such as: Janna Nami or maybe even Lulu Interestingly enough, I also quite enjoy being paired with Annie. Annie

Sivir Another safe champ, contrarily I'd rather sit back and farm eventually pushing the enemy out of lane with Ricochet. With her abysmally low AS I'd rather not get into a hard engage. Someone with hard CC especially long range is nice, if a stun or root lands I try to follow-up with some heavy Boomerang Blade damage. I'll even take off-picks so long as just their presence is threatening enough to keep the enemy away: Zyra Heimerdinger

Tristana Safe ADC #3, my whole lane I just want to farm and harass with E. Someone that can sit back and keep me safe at my eventual power point is ideal. Zilean NunuJanna All of these work decently.

Vayne More important than the actual support, I need the side bushes warded or at least vision kept for Condemn picks. If someone can engage and chain-CC all the better. However, the power point won't usually be reached until at least lvl 6+Cutlass or perhaps even later. Blitzcrank Leona Alistar
