Masteries Problem

hey, can someone please help me with this. In champion select i choose the correct masteries page according to my champion i click lets say ability power as im veigar. once the game starts it seems that i have no control over the masteries. it automatically seems to be the AD masteries page in game even if my AP masteries page is chosen, can anyone figure this out for me?
