Primary vs Secondary
Let me start off by saying I don't mind playing support, It is basically my main but not really by choice. In the previous seasons I would just accept that no one wanted to play it and that I didn't mind filling that role so I would usually end up there just because almost no one else wanted to.
This season Riot rolls out the shiny rolls button and I was really interested as this way the idea I thought was I could get a balance between the two rolls I enjoy....boy was I wrong....
For the most part I like to play Mid because I can have more of an impact on the game I feel if I can win my lane and snowball or get into other lanes to gank and provide additional support then I can as a support role. I also queue as secondary support because although it isn't my favourite position I am decent at it and I don't mind playing it , and in fact some days I want to be there. So since the season began I have been queueing as primary mid and secondary support thinking that it might offer some semblance of balance between the two but boy was I wrong.
I could go back to the start of the season and look at every game but I took the last 20 games for stats. In the last 20 games i have queued as primary mid and secondary support...and I know every time the queue insta pops where I will end up. In 20 games I got support 18 times and mid twice, and one of those games was because I complained I got support again and the guy in mid offered me his role because his buddy was ADC so I don't even really count that one as I went to a lane I didn't end up in by Riots grand scheme.
Is this really how we want to treat this queue? Can't we have an option to check off that your willing to wait a little longer ( up to a maximum ) to get your primary role. Now I am not suggesting that we just have a single role and you queue as it because then no one would probably play support except for the dozen of so people in the world that like that position but give us something like queue for 2 minutes and then if it does not find a game go after the secondary role.
I know some people are going to say, just queue as Jungle or Top or ADC...but I don't want to play those lanes. My top is abysmal, I don't play that role EVER as I don't play top lane champs very often. My ADC has gone down hill since the server migration when my ping tripled and I just don't feel that I am that good of a jungler so I don't do it. That leaves me with Mid and support, both of which I tend to think I do fairly well at.
Would a little more variety in how were getting placed hurt Riot?
