Get Rid of these Absurd Dodge Timers!

So I get my homework done for the day, have everything calm and I'm ready for a game of League. My first ranked que ends up with some idiot not banning for the first two bans then instalocking Jungle Yi, his duo que buddy hits Trynd top, we get a Tristana mid and a Nid support, up against Vel'Koz, Graves, Leona, Shyvanna and something else.

I dodge of course, I sit my five minutes and that's bloody fine. I'm willing to take the LP loss to not have to sit through 40 minutes of idiot trash picks of people who are bronze traps keeping others down.

But in the next game, I get two trolls fighting over top lane, so they lock in Teemo, Poppy, and another person who then picks Darius saying party in top lane.

Clearly trolls, clearly a loss, so now I have a thirty minute wait, or I lose extra LP.

So almost 50 minutes between picks, and wait times, not to mention I'd say around 6 to 10 LP lost to keep from having to put myself in a shitty situation.

Why would you punish someone so much for simply not wanting to put themselves in a toxic situation? Are you encouraging us to test the limits of how frustrated we can be by discouraging someone to not tolerate a toxic situation?

Why are the mature ones who are willing to take a lose of LP also forced to sit out such absurd wait times? Who benefits from that? How does this help the game or community in any form or fashion?

Reduced or no penalty for dodging will result in people dodging over any minor perceived inconvenience.

Sure it means you can dodge a troll once in a while, but more often you'll just have someone dodge because they didn't get the role/champion they wanted. Queue dodge penalty is the only thing stopping them from drastically increasing queue times as a whole.

Is this really a problem? i would love the ability to not have to play with complete idiots/assholes, it's not like in real life i'm stuck working at a gas station if I don't want to, not sure why it has to be that way in this game

Just remove the timer for dodging, and keep the LP loss. Not that hard

And? Do you think the scenario you present is worse than the benefit you'd receive from being able to dodge potentially toxic situations?

What you described was a possible losing situation, not a toxic situation. In either case if you are unwilling to accept the consequences of your actions perhaps you should not be playing a competitive game. Riot tried reducing penalties in the past, and are unwilling to make that mistake again. The people who play League are simply incapable of using such a system in a responsible manner.

Whether you dodge or not is fully your choice, however you will face the consequences afterward.

it's toxic, it's not possible losing, when you play ranked and you have 2 top laners who are already on tilt the game is over unless you get matched up with bjregsen or something on a smurf who somehow is in bronze or is elo boosting someone, almost every single game i've been in since i started playing this has had toxicity in it, there's no way in hell i'd play with people doing that, everyone says the game is about YOU carrying and YOU moving on, so i'm going to also make the experience about ME, since apparently i have to do all the work.

I've won ranked games with far stranger things happening than that. Many people do crazy things like three junglers in an attempt to convince others to dodge, however most will actually make an attempt at winning if no one dodges. That's not exactly sportsmanlike behavior, but it doesn't fit the definition of toxicity either.

League isn't all about you, whoever told you that is either an idiot or is bad at explaining their thoughts. It's about teamwork and as such it is about everyone on your team. You can only effect your portion of a given match, and you can change how large your portion is, but at the end of the day a particular game is won or lost as a team. Smart people can "solo" carry a match by building an advantage and using it to put their team in a better position, not by winning the game on their own.

It is a losing toxic situation to not understand team composition, zero people would actively choose to play, but you want someone to struggle against the storm of people who don't understand the game they are playing?

And the consequences of MY actions? They either need to make a system where the people you mute in game you no longer have the ability to be match made with, and the people playing league in the "irresponsible" matter would eventually be segregated together. There is zero reason to not have an ability to be able to retreat from toxic silly situations.

Also the second situation was ENTIRE a toxic situation, so like everyone who feels like they have a valid response to this, which always seem like scumbag Riot apologists, you just cherry picked what you decided to reply to and attempted to aim the blame toward me, when I was doing the much more responsible thing.

  1. Yes, you should accept the consequences of your actions. Riot has said how they plan to handle dodgers, and if you wish to dodge you have had fair warning. It's only fair.
  2. Team composition is not a toxic thing. The arguing could be, but we're working only off your word here, and you don't appear to be willing to state things in a neutral manner. Toxicity is against the rules, unusual champion picks and non-meta strategies are not.
  3. Please for the love of whatever it is you love stop using chronological view. Discussion view actually orders replies and informs people of when you reply to a particular post. Chronological view only informs people if you quote them, which does the same ordering as Discussion view does by default.

1.) I do accept the consequences of my actions as I will take the minimal LP loss but to simply not be allowed to play makes zero sense. I am offering up my LP which I feel like I'll be able to earn back, but I can't earn it back if I can't play, and my time period for playing each day is a small one. Maybe one or two games and I decide not to waste the time I have playing this game being frustrated by people not understanding how to win in this game, I should be allowed to do that and still be able to play on my account.

Also just because someone states something doesn't make it right, it doesn't make it make sense and it doesn't mean I can't say anything against. There are many many wrong things in the world and just becuase someone says something doesn't make it fair unless the facts do. I am not unable to play unless I force myself into a team of people who don't know what they are doing, picking selfish picks, and making a more or less unwinable game.

2.) Team Composition makes up a lot of the game, when you have 4 assassins and zero tanks while the other team is a proper team comp you will get rolled over, that's the reason they have so many little hints and nudges to point you on how to pick what champion for your team, I generally almost always fill, and try to fit my roll to the team but other people are to selfish to worry about that. I don't even mind unusual picks, put there are simply many team comps that can't beat a standard one and it's people simply playing selfish non team based roles.

3.) Look how hypocritical you are, saying that I'm not working from a neutral view then asking me to change things. Sorry mate, I choose Chronological View as that's what I like. You see that I've done that in this thread and you come into it anyways, it's only fair.

Also I never once said it was ALL ABOUT ME you are projecting that. But I don't know why I have to be knocked out of playing the game entirely because I don't want to play with certain people and roles, there are millions and millions of people, and if you have to wait 5 minutes to get a game going as opposed to 50 seconds, then that seems much more fair.

You can do all the wacky shit of three junglers that you want on your own time or if you have hope. But I don't know why I need to be subjected to it against my will and good time.
