MMR should not be used
Me and my friends were trying to play normals and ranked flex today but guess what? Our mmr is well above our ranks even though none of us play the game much anymore so we get matched with plats and diamonds when I'm the highest rank of my friends with only gold 1 and 44% WR. I was plat 4 last season, one friend was gold 3 last season, and another was silver 2 last season. But ranks do not matter at all apparently because whenever we try to play normals every single game matches us with a team of, on average, 4 plats and 1 diamond, and our teammates are constantly plats with garbage winrates who end up playing worse than any of us (which is kinda hard because we all get stomped).
My point is that MMR should be removed and ranks (plus KDA's based on extreme kill averages not assists to prevent smurfs) should determine all matchmade systems. In a ranked flex game where we are all silver currently, the tier average of our team was silver 1 (the solo queue ranks) vs a plat 2 tier average team (again these are their solo queue ranks) with the flex queue ranks being tier average silver 4 vs gold 2. This makes the game unplayable for us because it would make us play about 30 games of getting curb stomped in order to level out our MMR and we only average maybe 20 games a month each(at most).
Why should someone in gold have to face nothing but plats to get out of gold because they are better??? That simply doesnt make any sense. IF you are better than your fellow gold players then you would climb out of gold and go against plat players when you are actually plat. You shouldnt have to face up 3 divisions just to climb out of yours because your MMR is higher. The rewards for winning arent even that substantial with the increase in LP only being about 6 to 8 tops (for me). You shouldnt have to play 20 games to level out your MMR just to get out gold because you had a high winrate in silver when you were already facing the golds that you were determined to be better then. This system punishes players for being better than their own rank just because you could beat the people in your rank. HOW DO THIS MAKE SENSE.
