In game Exp for Supports 7.22/7.23

Can someone explain to me why supports are always behind with experience compared to the ADC? This is most noticeable when hitting level 2 and the trade afterwards. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks,

Supports roam more :(

ADCs will tend to get alone time later in the game. You shouldn't be behind level 3 though, unless you came to lane late or you got poked too far away from minions.

With the removal of catch up exp, this is to be expected now. They added it for supports to remain relevant throughout the game, but in the end it kinda made no sense for the toplane i kept at bay 3 levels behind, roam for 45 seconds, and hes already matched my level

Warding, roaming, dying, being out of range for whatever reason, having to recall because you took too much dmg, etc. All factors for why we fall behind. The key is to never take damage, never die, never ward, never roam, never recall, and never leave your ADC's side. If you follow all this, you'll 100% be the same exact level as your ADC, down to the experience point.

In all seriousness, all those reasons are valid as to why we lose out on exp. You just gotta work on knowing when it's a good time to do something. Just running off to ward a bush could lose you a whole wave if your ADC is pushing, and lets be honest; nobody cares enough to stop pushing while the support is keeping you safe with their wards. Even if you did get good at gauging when is a good time to do something, you're still most likely going to end up falling behind. It's just something that comes with the role. The REAL key is to minimize the deficit.
