Oracle lens and invisibility changes
With the removal of pink wards, Oracle lens is the new go-to trinket anytime there is an assassin with invisibility on the map. This is a free item that is a hard counter to Akali, Shaco, Vayne, and most of all Teemo. Adding a shimmer effect when an invis is hit by spells is great. I feel that the Oracle lens really prevents any invisible champion from being effective in a team fight though. I've played on PBE a bit and Oracle lens is everywhere now, essentially countering invis champs even more than pink wards did. Pink wards were a 1 time use, took an inventory slot, and cost gold. Oracle lens is free and you can't play or buy anything to counter it. If you ult as Vayne, try to hide moments before death as teemo, or try to juke with akali shroud or shaco, someone pushes a single button and for the next 10 seconds you are useless.
This isn't skillful countering to a invisible maneuver. It's a shutdown to their whole kit on speed dial. The single cast of sweeper lense isnt as detrimental as its not as long and stationary.
What are the thoughts behind this item and are there any changes in store for it?
Perhaps it could reveal for .5 seconds and not work on the same champion for another 3 seconds throughout the duration? This would give glimpse of them, allowing for a chance to cast spells or see what direction they are going, but not a hard shutdown?
Maybe the reveal only applies to the person casting it and they can cast again for a momentary glance that everyone can see?
Perhaps it could be something similar to jinx traps, but reveal invis instead of cc.
Perhaps it could be a bouncing skill shot, leaving a trail of smoke that reveals, like a combination of heimer grenade ult + singed poisen (only instead of damage it grants reveal) and after the 3rd bounce it reveals in a small area around the grenade for a number of seconds, the smoke trail fading.
I feel that there needs to be opportunity for skill and counter play here. The Oracle lens does not offer this. Lee sin reveal/Kog ult are a better example of skillful reveals.
